Nick seemed to really enjoy helping Clarence lead and helping Lana take care of the people.
Lucy had declared that she wanted to stay in the human world. She had become so accustomed to it that she didn’t think she could be happy living permanently in the shifter world. She lived in Nick’s place and took care of it, so that worked out well. Lana and Nick visited the human world often and stayed with her.
The only good thing to have come from her marriage to Brian was that he had managed to become wealthy in the human world. No one was quite sure how he had amassed such a large amount of riches in the short time he had resided there, but no one wanted to ask questions.
His assets allowed Lucy to live comfortably in the human world. She also earned money by waiting tables at the Paradigm. Colleen had joked with her that she was so sweet and pretty that a nice man would come along soon and sweep her off her feet.
Lucy’s reply was, “I don’t think so. I’m going to be on my own for a very long time before I even think about becoming involved with a man again.”
Colleen just smirked knowingly at her new friend.
Although Lana had come to love many of the people in the human world, such as Colleen, Casey, and Brady, she was most happy when they returned home.
She put the babies in their beds and left Nick to read a story to them. She headed outside to sit with the flowers and inhale the sweet scent of the roses.
The night sky had always fascinated her, too. She sometimes wondered if there were other worlds out there besides just the shifter and mundane human worlds. It made sense to her that there would be. She wondered if any of them had ever visited this planet. She smiled.
Her thoughts returned to Nick. He seemed to be happy living in the shifter world, although he had spent his entire life in the human one. That was all he had really known.
She wondered if Nick ever regretted giving up his life in the human world. He had a lot of friends, and there were a lot of comforts in the human world that didn’t exist in the shifter world.
Nick had finished getting the babies to sleep, and their nanny was in the next room in case they woke up in the middle of the night. He came out and slipped his arms around his wife from behind.
She smiled, as her stomach fluttered each time Nick touched her.
“What are you thinking about, love?” he asked her.
“I was just wondering if you missed living in the human world,” Lana said.
“Let me see. Crime. Murder. Phones ringing non-stop. Cars racing up and down the road at all hours of the night. Pollution. Chaos. Noise. I think that would be a no. Well, as long as you let me go visit my friends and watch the Super Bowl, the Stanley Cup, The World Series, and the FIFA soccer tournaments,” Nick said.
“I don’t know,” Lana teased. “That sounds like a lot.”
Then, she turned around into Nick’s arms and forgot that anything else in the world existed.
Later on, after they made love, Lana asked, “How do you feel about being a father again?”

Scientist Dragon’s Assistant
Irish Dragon Shifter Brothers Series
Blurb
A dragon shifter must protect his human mate from an otherworldly threat.
The Human Assistant
For years, I’ve worked hard to earn my PhD in genetics.
I rarely take time to date.
I’ve never met a man who respected the passion I have for my work.
Until now.
But the man isn’t my boyfriend.
He’s my boss.
Dr. Eli Bennett offers me a job as a research assistant.
I’ll be working for the best scientist in the field.
Eli is not only a genius, but he’s the most handsome man I’ve ever seen.
I love working in his lab.
But my gorgeous scientist has a secret -- he’s not human.
And there’s a big threat looming, one he didn’t even know existed.
He says I’m his mate, and he does everything in his power to protect me.
But his world is so different from mine.
How can I ever fit in?
The Scientist Shifter
Building my career has always been my priority.
I spend my days saving lives in a cutting edge genetics lab.
In the evening, I pursue my passion, studying the stars
My family wants me mated, but a mate is not in my future.
All of my exes said I care more about my lab than I do about our clan.
Then I hire Ava to work for me.
She’s the perfect assistant.
She’s beautiful, smart, and dedicated. She’s everything I could ask for.
I can’t stop thinking about her.
But she's human. And I’m her boss.
After a work event, we give into our passion, and struggle to keep our relationship professional.
On a work trip to Ireland, danger emerges.
My research has led to a startling discovery…
We aren’t alone in the world.
Now protecting Ava is my priority. Her safety is the only thing that matters.
Can a dragon shifter show his human mate that there’s a place for her in his clan?

1 Eli
“Eli, I’m ready. Are you coming?”
Eli Bennett studied the readout on his computer, comparing it to the notes he’d made the previous week. “There’s definitely an increase,” he muttered to himself.
Something nudged his arm. “Eli!”
He jumped, dropping his pen. It clattered to the floor.
“What?” he asked. He turned away from his equipment to see his girlfriend standing with her arms crossed.
“You said you’d come tonight.”
What was tonight? He had no idea. Dragon shifters don’t get tired as easily
