“Hey, Samantha, where’d you go?”
“What are you talking about? I’m right here.” Her smile quivered.
He lowered himself down so that his muscled chest met her soft breasts and she moaned at the sensation. “I’m glad you’re here. So very glad.” He moved just the slightest bit and his soft chest hair abraded her nipples. She cried out at the sensation.
“Was that good or bad?”
“Do it about thirty-three more times and then I’ll know,” she gasped.
A deep dark smoky chuckle, and he moved again, only slower.
“Oh yes, exactly that, Ezio. Exactly that.”
He was fighting a losing battle. Eden was due over soon, and he had the sexiest woman alive in bed with him. There wasn’t a chance in hell he was going to let this go past heavy petting, because when he actually did make love to Samantha, he wanted to take his time. He wanted to savor every damn moment with her. And he wanted to make sure she was one-hundred percent on board, not just on a post-stress high. But the way she was looking at him right now told him she wanted this, too.
Of course, he could just not open the door when the doorbell rang…
Fuck, it was Eden. She’d break a window and climb through.
“Hey Ezio, are you with me?” This time she asked.
He looked into her sky-blue eyes and wondered if she was the one. Hell, he’d been thinking about her for seven solid months. No other woman had come close to interesting him this much.
“I’m here.” He stroked her cheek with the back of his knuckles, indulging in the softness of her skin. “I’m right where I want to be.”
“You stopped doing anything. Not that I’m complaining, because I’ve got to admit, you’re right where I want you to be too,” she breathed out.
Samantha wiggled underneath him, just a little, enough to get up close and personal with his erection. “Uhm, why aren’t we doing anything more? I mean, do you prefer doing the breast thing when there’s a T-shirt in the way?”
He looked into her laughing eyes and knew that such impertinence needed to be punished, so he nuzzled her neck then nipped at her earlobe.
“Mmmmm, do that again.”
He did it again. Then he placed an open-mouthed kiss on her neck. “You smell like apricots.”
“It’s your sister’s shampoo.”
“You also smell like you, and I crave that. I crave you, Samantha Gail. But we’re going to have to bring this to a close.”
“But why? There’s you, and me, and this nice comfortable bed.” She spread out her arms, which put her breasts on display in a delightful way.
“Trust me, none of those things have escaped my notice, and if anybody but Eden were coming over, I’d suggest we spend the rest of the afternoon in bed. Unfortunately, your friend is a force to be reckoned with.”
“Ah, spit. You’re right. We can’t just pretend like no one is home. She’d probably just try to jimmy the lock or something.”
“My thoughts exactly.”
But as he pushed up, he got another look at her lying there with her tantalizing pink-tipped breasts, and her hair that was every shade of yellow, and he desperately needed another kiss. It was a compulsion.
He angled his head just right so that he could brush his lips against hers, tease her, which would ultimately tease him. One light kiss after another, soft and tantalizing, just a taste to hold him over until they actually had time.
The doorbell rang. Of course, it did. He sighed and feathered another kiss against the most beautiful mouth in the world. Slowly Samantha opened her eyes. They sparkled like diamonds. “That must be Eden,” she groaned.
“Must be,” he agreed.
“She usually has better timing than this.” Samantha kissed him on his chest, right over his heart.
“My God, woman, you’ll be the death of me.” Reluctantly, he pushed off the bed and picked up his long-sleeved shirt. “I’ll go get the door, you can go into my bedroom and find another one of my shirts to wear, one that isn’t wet.”
“Are you sure you want me pawing through your things in your bedroom?”
“I am looking forward to it, Samantha.”
He watched her blush. He gave her one more kiss, then couldn’t stop from looking at her mussed hair and bare breasts and tried to think of all the different capitals of the world so he wouldn’t be sporting wood when he greeted Eden.

Samantha liked the new guy, Leo. She vaguely remembered meeting him at Eden’s party seven months ago, but now he was making an impression. She definitely got the feeling he was putting on the charm offensive to give Ezio a hard time, and it was working, wasn’t that interesting? Leo winked at her. She was happy she had a bra on and clothes with more coverage.
“So, why are you here again, Perez?” Ezio asked.
“Because I’m the one with a brother who’s a cop here in Virginia. Martin is getting us all the inside information we could want on what’s going on with last night’s bad guys,” he grinned happily.
“Still doesn’t explain why you’re here today. In my house.” Ezio grumbled.
“I’m being helpful.” Leo’s smile was huge.
Samantha loved watching this byplay.
“Don’t you have a book you should be reading, or a woman who is missing you?” Ezio demanded to know.
“Nope, I opened up my schedule to help Samantha.”
“Put a sock in it, you two,” Eden said
