Just One Silver Fox
Flatiron 5 Fitness #8
Jacquie Morgan is an open book…
Married young and widowed soon after, Jacquie can’t remember a time that she wasn’t defending or caring for someone. When her youngest son goes to college and her nest is empty, she decides to indulge herself. Attending the F5F Valentine’s Day “come disguised as your favorite superhero” party seems like the perfect solution—but the better one is taking “Superman” home for the night, knowing exactly who is behind the mask.
Pierce Aston has a hidden past…
Pierce is building himself a new life, with no commitments or responsibilities. Flatiron Five Fitness should be the perfect place to find his new balance, with the bonus opportunity to admire kickboxing queen and human resources manager, Jacquie, but he knows he needs more. Going to a party in disguise is right in his toolbox, as is a mission to provide her with a night of seduction—but being with Jacquie is far more addictive than Pierce expects. When she admits that she only wants a fling, how far will he go to convince her to try for forever—or will his past threaten their chance of a future?
Flatiron Five Fitness
Straight out of college, five friends with a dream joined forces to build success. Ten years later, their exclusive fitness club, Flatiron Five Fitness, is the hottest destination in Manhattan. People flock to F5F to get fit, to get lucky, and even, to fall in love. The founding partners have been immune to F5F’s romantic spell—at least, so far...

Dear Reader
Welcome back to Flatiron Five Fitness!
Just One Silver Fox is book eight in the series so far—it was intended to be number seven, but Hunter and Chloe jumped the queue with their Christmas romance, Just Home for the Holidays. Just One Silver Fox features Jacquie, a woman in her forties who is the human resources manager for the club, and Pierce Aston, a mysterious member of the club. Jacquie was widowed in her twenties and raised her kids alone: now that they’ve all grown up and left home, she’s ready to think about herself for a change. The last thing she wants is commitment or responsibility—she admits to Pierce that she wants to be impulsive and to be a little bit spoiled. She also makes it clear that physical intimacy is all that’s available. Pierce is a former SEAL and bodyguard who admires Jacquie and how direct she is—he likes knowing exactly where he stands. But once he and Jacquie get involved, Pierce finds it impossible to just step away. He wants more, but he has to convince Jacquie that it will be worth it. She’s risk-averse, while Pierce manages risk all the time. I love the romance between these two and how blunt they are with each other. They’re both tough, outspoken, and unafraid to push each other—which is why, of course, their relationship works so well.
Although the books are fiction, Flatiron Five Fitness is set in real time and in the real world. The club is in Manhattan and this story begins in February 2020. Since all fitness clubs closed down in Manhattan in March 2020, I didn’t think I could ignore the influence of Covid-19. The potential threat of the virus does play a role in Jacquie and Pierce’s story, but I think a spoiler alert is fair: none of the characters contract the virus and no one dies. The crew at Flatiron Five Fitness, all their friends and family, and the members of the club are statistically very lucky.
Next up in the Flatiron Five Fitness world will be Sonia’s story. You’ll get a little peek into her life in Just One Silver Fox, when you meet her twin sister (and family troublemaker) Katia. I’m hoping to publish Sonia’s story this summer, which will be called Just the Wrong Twin, then Annika and Thom’s story later in the year.
You’ll find some growing connections with my other series, too.
