Who knew when we were growing up this would become our lives? As much as I don’t want to admit it, I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Demons Among Us will continue but we’ll be doing it as part of a large family. One who listens to a demon’s song.
Epilogue
Annslee
Two years later
Holding onto Huntson’s hand, I step out onto the back patio with a smile larger than ever at the sight in front of me. The yard is decorated with red roses scattered, showing me the path to take me to the man of my dreams.
See today’s my wedding day and I’m officially becoming Hunter’s in every way possible.
In attendance we have all of our family from the Satan’s Keepers, to all of the Devil’s Riot MC, even Dean, his wife, Mitch, and Kit-Kat. I finally got what I always wanted two years ago and I couldn’t be happier.
Family.
The men and women who have entered my life whether it were through Hunter or not, they have all shown me when it comes to family it’s not about who you share blood with but rather those you’ll give your life for as well as stand up to protect.
This is what I dreamt about for years.
“Mommy, look Daddy,” Huntson squeals, pointing at his daddy as Chaz starts playing the song I requested him to play with Bethany singing the lyrics.
After everything that happened, Bethany, Alexis, Mackenzie, and I grew extremely close. You don’t go through tragedy without it affecting you in some way and when I’d asked Bethany if she’d sing ‘I’ll Be’ I thought she would say no. She doesn’t like to sing in public but I’d heard her sing with her husband on several occasions in the studio. So when she’d agreed, I nearly pounced on her hugging her as I thanked her repeatedly.
As the first words of the song, begin, I glance down at Huntson. “Alright, baby, time to walk to Daddy,” I murmur and take the first step.
We’d practiced this for weeks but I knew my son, he was a daddy’s boy. Releasing his hand, I allowed him to dart down the path to his dad as everyone laughed.
“Daddy,” Huntson yelled, crashing into his dad, who kneeled down to his level to hug him as he got there. Hunter’s eyes never leaving me as he does this.
“Hey, little man, you gonna stand with me and wait for Momma?” Hunter asks.
“Yep, Momma is pretty,” Huntson announces.
“That she is Hunt,” Hunter says as I get closer.
Once I reach him completely, Hunter reaches for my hand and pulls me closer. “You look beautiful, baby,” he whispers.
“You’re not half bad yourself, mister,” I giggle.
Hunter had offered to wear a suit today, but that’s not the man I was marrying. No instead he was in a pair of black pressed jeans, a white button down dress shirt open at the collar, and the cut, he now wore as a member of the Devil’s Riot MC, the same as each of his brothers.
Twister had told them when Mackenzie was taken, they were a part of the club, it became official when Hunter, literally went on the hunt to find me when I’d been taken.
My father and Terry Nelson had kidnapped me and nearly drowned me, if not for Hunter, his brothers, Dragon, and several other members of the Devil’s Riot MC I’d have died that day.
Hunter ended up breathing life into my body saving me. Unfortunately, I’d lost a baby due to all the trauma. It hurt, losing someone I’d only just found out about. I didn’t know if it was a boy or girl but regardless, it broke my heart.
Hunter and his brothers all of them, held a memorial for our lost baby which helped ease the pain some.
Now as I vow myself to Hunter in front of all of our friends and family, I feel the wholeness within.
Plus, I have a wonderful wedding present to share with Hunter later tonight. After two years, I was finally carrying our second child and couldn’t wait for him to sing ‘Dark Lullabies’ to our son or daughter the way he still does with Huntson. Or better yet, the song he wrote for me.
A song filled with pain yet shows all of the emotion within the soul.
A demon’s song meant to reveal the truth of it all.
In and out.
Only the one who holds the heart can defeat the darkness not just keep it at bay.
I do this for Hunter as he does the same for me.
Love of a demon through and through, no matter the fight it will be worth it in the end.
Author’s Note
Dear Readers,
I hope you have enjoyed the Dark Lullabies series. For me Hunter and Annslee’s story was one of the hardest to write as I wrote for those who know what it’s like to have someone battling the inner demons such as Hunter’s. We all have things in our lives, but I wanted to make sure everyone who read this could feel his pain. What he is going through. Same as with Annslee, life is never easy and these two deserved to find happiness with each other. They are the anchor to one another.
As it concludes it doesn’t mean we won’t be seeing these men as they have become members of the Devil’s Riot MC.
If you want to see more of Finley, check her out in Vex’s Temptation releasing in December. I’ve never been more excited to write something than to work on hers.
Sincerely,
E.C.
If you’re just starting with A Demon’s Song, be sure to check out the entire series from the beginning, A Demon’s Sorrow to get the full story.

“Dude, take a look at the new chick walking into class,” Tanner mumbles under his breath from behind me. Glancing up from the song I’d been working on I tilt my head
