At least not right away. I’d needed to make sure things with Tinsley were legit and she wasn’t trying to pull shit on us.
I personally looked into her after her arrival wanting to make sure she was solid. I had a hard time believing the type of person she was. What I’d found, you’d swear she was a fuckin’ saint, even being the cousin of one of the most notorious men, Grigory, also known as the bogeyman who once was the torpedo for the Pakhan in Russia. Over the years we’ve gotten to know what sort of man Grigory is and though he’s scary as fuck and lives up to his name, his family and those he considers close are just that.
“I get it, brother, I do but if you want shit normal again with Cara, you’re gonna have to do something,” I state.
Coyote opens his mouth to say something but closes it when his phone rings. Pulling it out, he answers immediately. “Dex,” he mutters in greeting. A minute later his features change, and I become alarmed. “You’re sure?” The question comes out more as a snarl. “Alright, thanks, appreciate it. If you get any news on your end let me know. Do the same here. We’ll find her.” Disconnecting the call, Coyote throws the phone to the table. “Need you to find my sister, Nerd.”
Fuck.
“What did Dex say? Gonna need everything,” I demand.
“Evidently, Cara and that fuck head Josh she’d been seeing went out a week ago and got drunk but something was off with Cara. She said she didn’t feel good so he took her back to the dorm. Told Dex about it the next morning, and he’d gone to check in on Cara considering he and her roommate are tight. Found her gone, hasn’t seen her since and he’d been looking for her. His girl is freaked, scared something like what went down with her has happened with Cara,” Coyote says, hands balled into fists on top of the table. “This morning, Dex found out some information after putting feelers out, she’s been kidnapped. And it’s not good.”
Motherfucker.
Jumping out of my seat, the chair flies backward falling to the floor. Without a word, I storm down the hallway and make my way to my room filled with computers. I’ll find Cara and then I’m going to do something I should have fuckin’ done the moment she became legal.
Make her mine.
No more fuckin’ around.
When I get her back her only choice will be being with me.
Chapter One
Cara
One Week Ago
Pain radiates down through my body once again as Mountain’s fist strikes the side of my face.
“Your brother and his little shit of a club seem to think their shit don’t stink,” Spark sneers as Mountain grabs ahold of my hair.
They’d been holding me captive for the past two months. Only reason I know the length of time is due to one of the prospects, Dicky, telling me. He’s the only ally I’ve had in this place. Besides the fact he gives me food once a day after the rest of the guys crash and I’m back in my cell, he also tells me the day, then apologizes for not getting me anything else to eat. Why he’s with these asshats is beyond me. The guy could do so much better.
Then again, I’m the dummy who’d been drugged at a bar and kidnapped from my dorm room up at Stonewall University. Ember, my roommate and best friend, she’d told me to never leave my drink unguarded, meaning not to let it out of my sight. Being that I was with Josh I didn’t think anything would happen and what do you know. One minute, I’m fine. The next I’m not and needing to lie down. When Josh got me back to my room at the dorms, I passed out only to wake up here, wherever here is. I don’t know but that was two months ago.
You try going months without a bath and see how you like it. It sucks and all I want is to go home and meet my nephew, that I’d avoided meeting for months, all because I was ticked with my brother, Coyote, for being a big fat mean jerk. He’d come up to school the first week and all but humiliated me by finding me at a frat party I’d gone to with Ember to meet up with Josh who I’d met. The worst part of it all was when he’d found us making out, Josh’s hand up my shirt and we were getting ready to go at it. Coyote had nearly thrown Josh down a flight of stairs in the process of getting Josh away from me.
“Bitch, I’m talking to you,” Spark the one responsible for my kidnapping snarls as Mountain, his Sergeant at Arms, forces my head back more.
“I can’t help you there,” I croak in response. “I hadn’t spoken to my brother in months before you dickheads had to kidnap me.” Which is the truth but every time I say this, they don’t seem to want to believe me. Everyday it’s the same with these morons.
“You’re pushing your luck, sweetness, but we have something planned for you. Something that will get your brother and the rest of those pussies’ attention,” Spark mutters leaning in close and brushing a hand across my bruised cheek.
What now? Beat me some more.
If Coyote doesn’t know where I am by now, I highly doubt he’ll find me before I’m dead. I’m sure that’s what will happen.
“Snig, get the camera set up.” This said by Lighter who seems to have decided to grace me with his presence. Considering there are eight men altogether, I don’t see them all every time but it’s not like I don’t fear them. In fact, you’d think
