makes her way back to the table where all the other ol’ ladies were laughing their asses off.

Yeah, I gotta admit feels damn good having my woman home where she belongs and this time, I’m keeping my promise about her staying right where she is. I can keep her safe, no matter what’s thrown our way.

Chapter Eleven

Faith

My head was ready to explode seeing Tara Lester, also known as one of the strays at the clubhouse. She’s also a bitch I went to high school with that tried her best to get Alex and I to break up on more than one occasion. Too bad for her she didn’t succeed in this. I knew what she was up to, even when she became a stray at the clubhouse. Always trying to get close to Alex.

Sitting back in my chair, Nora, Tiny, and Brielle are laughing so hard I can’t help but join them.

“Oh my God, that was epic,” Nora says as she wipes the tears from her eyes while trying to regain control of herself.

“Epic? More like monumental. If that skank has any brains in her she’ll learn not to fuck with you and Axel again,” Tiny giggles. “I can’t stand that bitch.”

“That’s because she wants Chains as well,” Nora mutters.

“Yeah, well, skanky ass orifice isn’t about to get her hands on him either. Chains is my man and I’ll kick her ass,” Tiny states a grin still in place. With how small she is it’s no wonder how she got her nickname.

Over the past week, I got to know these three women and spent some time with Ela. I’d miss that woman. She was like a second mother to me after I started coming to the clubhouse with Alex. First as his girlfriend while we were dating, and he hadn’t even prospected yet. His dad had been in the club before him. I loved Alex’s dad, Rico. I wish he was still around unfortunately; he was doing a stint in the penitentiary for manslaughter. I don’t know what happened other than it was club business and that he wouldn’t be around for a while.

“Ugh, I hate women like her. It’s the one thing about being at the clubhouse that really gets on my nerves. The skanks around here,” Brielle states her gaze narrowing on one trying to approach Ryder. Only this one gets the boot before she even makes it within touching distance.

I’d known Ryder but he hadn’t been around much after he’d decided to go nomad. It’s nice to see him, better yet to see he’s happy.

“I know what you mean,” I mutter, meeting Brielle’s gaze.

“So, where’s Lyrica tonight?” Tiny asks.

“I guess she decided to stay at Fuse’s tonight,” I shrug. The girls had brought not just me but Lyrica into their fold.

“You think Fuse and her . . .” I shake my head immediately at this ‘cause there is one thing no one knows about my best friend but me and it will stay that way until she decides it’s time to bring it up. Which I highly doubt she ever will. Lyrica has buried her past as deep as she can get it.

“No, I don’t think so. Lyrica isn’t interested in being with anyone. She told me yesterday, Fuse offered his spare room and she would be his roommate. They even came up with ground rules between them. This way she doesn’t have to find another place while at the same time finding a job,” I inform them.

“Are you sure? I mean I know Fuse and he’s a ladies’ man. I don’t think he’s ever had a woman not succumb to his will,” Nora giggles.

“I’m sure. Lyrica is adamant in not being with anyone. Doesn’t matter how much Fuse tries to get her to fall to her knees for him,” I confirm.

“We’ll see. Seems like with these guys when they find something they want; they always get it. I mean look at Breaker and I, we were married after a week of meeting and within hours of us first starting out,” Nora smiles.

“Chains moved me into his room when he heard me one night screaming in my sleep. From that night on he’s held me to him throughout the night,” Tiny murmurs, her eyes shining while placing a hand on her stomach. “I never thought I’d have what I have and I wouldn’t trade it in for anything.”

“You got that right. Ryder means everything to me. If not for him, I don’t know where I would be,” Brielle whispers softly, her gaze focused toward where all of our men were shooting pool.

“I know what it’s like to live without Axel,” I mutter, feeling a twinge of jealousy. Doesn’t matter they haven’t been with their men as long as I have with Alex. “I spent four years longing for him. Wishing he still wanted me.”

“I was reading something the other day, and it reminded me of you and Axel. It said, ‘A love so strong through promises broken can find its way through thick and thin. A love so strong can heal the cracks no matter the pain it’s caused. Whether it’s miles between or arm’s length, a love so strong will find its way.’ The moment I read this I knew I needed to share it with you,” Tiny murmurs.

“It’s beautiful,” I say, tears welling in my eyes.

“Alright. let’s quit with the heavy,” Nora proclaims.

“I agree,” Brielle nods.

“How about we go see if the guys will let us have one of those tables?” I suggest with a grin. It had been a long time since I played pool but I’m sure I could still whip Alex’s butt at it.

“Great idea,” Tiny smiles as she moves to stand.

Only as Tiny stands fully she ends up doubling over.

“You okay?” Nora asks, placing a hand on Tiny’s back.

“Um, I don’t think so,” Tiny says, lifting her head to meet our gazes. “I think my water just broke.”

“Oh shit, Chains,” I yell out, knowing he needed to
