“Woman, don’t know who the hell you are either. And right now, I don’t give a flyin’ fuck. Faith is my wife. A wife I haven’t seen in four years, who had my kid without fuckin’ telling me. Now you can go with Fuse or one of my other brothers. I don’t fuckin’ care. But right now, I’m going to talk to my wife without anyone around and finally meet my son. Got me?” Oh shit, Alex is well beyond pissed right now.
Lyrica opens her mouth to argue; however, I shake my head as I turn to face her. “Don’t argue with Alex, Ly. Learned a long time ago when he’s pissed and wants his way, he’ll get it.” To this my best friend snaps her mouth shut and narrows her eyes on me.
“Right, this is why he made you leave. Threw you away?”
Ouch. Lyrica knew everything and at the moment with the mood she’s in she’s ready to go for blood if need be.
“You . . .”
“Ly, please just do this for me. You’re right, we should have gone to Lawson but at the same time there was a lunatic in our house who threatened Alec and the only one on my mind at the time who I knew would protect my son was his dad.” I say, cutting Alex off before he responds.
Lyrica stares at me for a moment longer before finally nodding her head while she lifts her hands to brush her fingers through her hair. “Fine, but I’m doing so under protest,” she mutters and aims her glare at Alex, “And you, make her cry any more than you have over the past four years and I’ll cut off your balls, asswipe.”
God Lyrica.
I want to smack my head against something or better yet find somewhere to hide now, thanks to her informing my husband just how much he’s hurt me.
“Not going to make her cry,” Alex grumbles. Something in the way he says this causes me to lift my head and meet his gaze fully.
My heart kicks up a notch in my chest at seeing his beautiful eyes. Eyes I used to stare into as he laid over the top of me, his dick deep inside my body. God, I’ve missed seeing just how dark green they were.
“We’ll see about that,” Lyrica snaps as she steps forward. “Which room am I going to?”
“Come with me, Mouthy,” Fuse growls from next to the door.”
“Don’t call me Mouthy.”
“Then don’t act like a mouthy bitch and I won’t.” Oh boy, Lyrica’s already getting into it with Fuse and Fuse isn’t easily angered. Not in the least. Out of all the guys from the club I’d met before leaving he was the calmest of all of them.
“Brother, we’ll be in our rooms if you need anything,” Pitch Black mutters as Brake comes back in the room with Alec’s bag.
“Teddy, Daddy,” Alec mumbles sleepily from the bed. I knew he’d still be awake and I feel like a crappy ass mom for not keeping the arguing down. Then again, he’s used to loud considering Lyrica is loud.
“Okay, baby, hang on. Let me get it out of your bag,” I say gently to Alec as I reach out to take the bag from Brake. “Thank you.”
“Yeah, no problem. But FYI that car is a piece of shit. How you kept it going this long is beyond me,” Brake grumbles.
“Well, I kept it going by changing the oil, transmission fluid, and doing tune-ups like you and Alex taught me to do when I would watch.” I state while opening Alec’s bag and pulling his stuff out that he wants.
Lifting my head as I pull Alec’s teddy, blanket, and picture out of the bag, I find four men staring at me like I was insane. “What?”
To this none of them say anything but rather shake their heads.
“I’m out. Call me if you need anything,” Tyres grumbles, opening the door.
“Thanks, brother,” Alex mutters, as he reaches out and holds the door open for his brothers to step through.
Moving my gaze to my son, I take the few short steps over to him and hand him his blanket and teddy while putting the picture on the table next to him. Alec looks from the image to the man himself and smiles brightly. “Daddy’s here,” he murmurs.
“Yeah, baby, Daddy’s here,” I whisper as tears fill my eyes.
“Daddy not going away ever ‘gain,” Alec says just as softly. His gaze glued to Alex.
“Baby . . .” I start to explain things but Alex interrupts me as he closes the door and joins us.
“Nope, little man, you’re stuck with me. You and Momma both,” Alex murmurs, kneeling down until he’s face to face with his son.
Alec’s face brightens more than I’ve ever seen it as Alex does this. “Does that mean I get to ride on the bike with you? Like in my picture of you?”
Alex leans his head back some in wonder before turning his head to the side to see the picture our son is talking about.
Alex glances from the picture to myself and back again to the image. Finally, he smiles at Alec, “Yeah, little man, when you’re big enough I’ll take you for as many rides as you want. Now go to sleep, Daddy and Momma have to talk for a bit then get some rest ourselves. Tomorrow, I’m taking you both home.”
Um, what?
Home?
I don’t think so.
I’m not going back to that house the lunatic wanted to hurt me in. That’s the only home I have now and even that one has been ripped away thanks to whoever the hell that guy was tonight.
Once Alec was fast asleep, Alex gently gripped my arm and took me outside onto the balcony.
“Alright, Faith, tell me what the hell’s going on. Starting with how you found me here at this motel,” Alex demands.
“I, um, I figured if you were in the area you would be at
