it shows that it's a message from Bridget.

Why didn't you come over last night? Are you—

Luke's phone goes black. Why was he supposed to go to her house last night? What does it say after "are you"? Does it say are you coming over tonight? I thought they were just friends. I thought Mindy said that he told her he wasn't interested in her anymore. Is he with both of us at the same time? The more time I spent with Luke, the more I think I am getting to know him, but then his mysterious side keeps popping up.

The door opens, and I quickly fall back on the bed. Luke turns on the light. I look up at him. He is still wearing the light gray sweatpant shorts from last night, and his hair is a tad on the messy side.

"Good, you're awake. I made coffee and some breakfast for us," he says.

He grins, then walks over to me. He bends down, putting his hands on the bed on each side of me and kisses me on the lips, then grabs for his phone. Do I bite my tongue or blurt out what I saw on his phone from the text he received from Bridget, literally ten seconds ago? I don't want to start the morning off unpleasant.

"Your alarm went off on your phone, but I dismissed it," I say in a calm, yet firm way.

He looks at me, then at his phone, slides it in his pocket, and walks out the door. I follow him into the kitchen; it smells delightful again. He made waffles, eggs, bacon, and sausage.

"Wow, you and your cooking skills. I might have to keep you after all," I chuckle.

He smiles as I walk up closer to him. I touch his arm, and he turns toward me; I wrap my arms around him. I want him to know I want him to be mine and mine only. That's only natural considering how far we've come in such a short time. He wraps his arms around me, holds me for a while, resting his chin on top of my head. I can hear his heart beating; it's soothing and makes me forget about wanting to ask him about Bridget. The bacon smells amazing right now, making me so hungry, but I don't want him to let me go.

The door to Luke's house flings open, and Bridget comes barreling inside. Luke and I break free of our embrace. He turns toward her as I am standing somewhat behind him. What the fuck is she doing here?

"What are you doing here?" he questions, angrily.

"So, this is why you didn't come over last night because she's here. Are you fucking her too?" Bridget yells.

My eyes widen, and I take a few steps back from Luke. My mind is blown; this is unexpected. She parades in here like she owns the damn place. I want to know what her deal is. I want to know what the fuck she is talking about and what the hell is going on.

"What the fuck are you talking about? I'm not fucking you, and I never told you that I was coming over last night," he shouts back at her, then turns to look at me.

His facial expression looks worried. I don't know what to do or how to feel right now. I want to leave.

"Fuck you, Luke. You told me you were coming over, and you just fucked me the other day, and you're fucking her now," she yells.

She throws her arms up in the air, causing her already tiny shirt to show even more of her midriff. Luke puts his hand on the back of his neck and breathes out his nose heavily.

"You need to leave. Please get the fuck out of my house! Now!" he screams at her.

"FUCK YOU! You'll be back for more, and you know it. Enjoy my sloppy seconds, Ali," she spews.

Bridget gives me a gruesome smile then slams the door, not once but twice. Luke goes after her; I'm sure to watch to make sure she doesn't mess with any of his stuff in the pole barn. I stand speechless in the middle of his kitchen. I want to cry, but my emotions are frozen. I don't know what to think or what to do. Everything seems like a cluster fuck right now. Bridget is more than likely acting like a jealous and possessive ex who can't stand to see her once-significant other with another girl. But they never dated or were even intimate with one another beyond kissing, at least that's what Luke told me. But now I'm not too sure.

She could be making a scene to cause friction between Luke and me because she wants him, and he doesn't want her back. I hope I am right about this part because if there is more to this story, I want to know. If he was sleeping with her before, that's fine; I wasn't a part of his life, and he wasn't a part of mine. But if he's sleeping with us both, that's a different ball of wax. I prefer honesty, and knowing Luke, he does too. He will explain what the hell is going on.

I am numb over this dumb situation. I decide to get ready for work. I walk back into Luke's room and grab my bag. I go into his bathroom to change for work and grab the rest of my stuff. I want to cry, and it takes everything inside me not to as I look at myself in the mirror. I brush my hair and put on some light makeup. A knock on the door startles me.

"Ali?" Luke says in a soft voice.

I brush my teeth and put the rest of my stuff in my bag. I open the door. Luke is standing there with a sad and concerned look on his face. I look up at him. I don't want to talk about this now. It's all too
