“Look my pets; a thief has come to steal from you! Enjoy her.” Turning back to Bastian, she is surprised to see him shaking, trying to break free of her hold.
Jazmin hears the sound of the snakes, as the stone scrapes across the marble floor and trembles in fear. Her fear quickly turns to fury, when the slutty female rubs her body against him. ‘Mine!’ Her heart screams!
‘Find the key and get out. The Nomads will help you, Jazmin,’ Bastian, says, speaking to her mind.
A tear of hopelessness slips free, sliding down her cheek as she hears his voice. “Bastian, if you let her touch you again, I may have to shoot you!”
His laughter ripples in her mind and across her soul as he responds, ‘You are my mate, Jazmin. I had given up hope of ever finding you, she is nothing to me!’
Jazmin watches Gavina wrap her arms around him and rubs her body up and down his. “Bastian, do you remember the waterfall? God, it has been so long since I had a Fae.” She turns to face Jazmin and takes his hand and places it on her breast, squeezing it. Throwing her head back and moaning.
A tear of fury slips free, flowing down and falls to the ground. Gavina smiles and says to Jazmin, “In a few moments, he will not even member your name. It will be my name that he screams in the heat of passion.” She turns to Bastian and kisses his lips, and Jazmin watches as a silver mist passes from her mouth to his.
Bastian feels the mist enter his lips and tastes her sweet ambrosia. “Gavina lets go somewhere private!” He says, pulling her against him as the spell takes hold.
Jazmin gasps and a tear of betrayal slips free. Jazmin struggles with everything she has to break free. The serpents are closer now, and she feels her death is near. Jazmin looks up at the ceiling, anywhere but at the two lovers embracing and her tears fall to the floor. The angels look like Fae! They do not wear wings but have the distinctive ears of their race. One holds a harp and is singing on top of a fountain, while around her on the floor four large serpents face away, protecting her!
A song whispers in her mind and Jazmin sings. The moment her husky voice echoes through the silence of the tomb, the snakes respond. They begin contorting on the floor, and Jazmin sings on. The stone covering their bodies explodes to silver mist, and they turn on the one who trapped them.
Gavina screams in rage when Jazmin begins to sing, but when she tries to move, she finds Bastian’s hands holding her firmly. “Gavina, meet my mate, Jazmin!” Terror fills her heart as he shoves her to the middle of the serpents. Immediately, they seize the betrayer ripping her apart, and she fades. All that is left is the silver mist of her soul. A scream fills the chamber as it is sucked beneath the tiled floor of the mausoleum. She will face judgment for her crimes against the Angels and the Fae.
The serpents turn and slither up the wall and through the ceiling. They return to their place, on top of the fountain until needed again. Bastian looks at Jazmin as he stalks toward her. “What was the name of that song, Jazmin?”
“It is called the Nightingale,” she says, smiling at him.
“You will sing it at our wedding,” he orders.
She smiles, and tears of joy break free joining their brothers on the floor. “I will sing it at our wedding, Bastian.” He cups her face and pulls her close, kissing her softly.
They are shocked when the chandelier explodes with a bright blue light. It begins to spin, faster, and faster illuminating the chamber. Blue mist ricochets and the sound of metal hitting tile resonates throughout the room.
They stand stunned, clinging to each other, staring at the key on the floor. Jazmin is the first to move; she walks slowly forward and picks up the silver key. “We did it, Bastian!” she exclaims.
Chapter 14
From within the vale, Caderyn screams as Drake’s soul is ripped away from her. She fights to keep him with her, but she isn’t strong enough. A blue mist shoots from the globe in the center of the village and seeks its victim. It finds Drake’s soul and drags him inside.
Caderyn stumbles outside still weakened from her attack, she watches as the globe swirls blue and she sees the star that is Drakes soul, fighting to break free. “No more!” She runs at the globe just as the mist shoots out and pierces the glass with the bronze dagger. The explosion throws her twenty feet into the air, landing amongst the debris.
Drake breaks free and shoots across time, racing to get back to his body. The little hummingbird zips to the Queen alarmed that she is no longer moving. They place her body back in the healer’s home, guarded by the strongest Fae. Concerned for the Queen, no one sees the shadow pick up the bronze blade.
Bastian feels the Holy presence before he enters and drops to his knees in reverence. An Angel flows through the floor of the chamber, stopping before him. Jazmin stares in awe and joins Bastian in a bow.
“You’ve done well Child of the Light.” The brilliant angel says, “In saving your Kings soul, you have protected humanity as well. Jazmin is your reward, a treasure far greater than gold, cherish her.”
“I will,” Bastian says rising up and pulling Jazmin close.
“The key, Jazmin,” the Angel asks with his hand outstretched. She steps forward and places the key in his hand, and he touches her tear stained cheek.
“I don’t understand,” Jazmin says.
“The
