Her scent filled my nose again, it was calming, “I never said I didn’t like you,” I tried to reassure her.
She rested her chin between my right shoulder and neck, then quickly kissed my neck, “You never said you did like me either,” she said then tossed the washcloth on my face. I pulled it off and she was standing at the door way, looking back with a raised eye-brow and half a smile. Then she left and I was left to finish washing myself
The short-haired fur, acted as towel, it beaded the water off instead of absorbing it. The clothes that were set out, were a little big, so they had to have belonged to Mylicious. They were the typical, beige color, made of the hide of some animal. There was different colored, bone beads that acted as buttons on the chest. The top button was black, the middle blue, and the bottom red. The shirt felt clingy at first, but I got used to it quick. The only thing I didn’t have was a pair of moccasins, I wore my old sandals.
I walked out of the tunnel to meet a tasteful glance from Yura and smile from my brother, “You look like one of the pack,” Mylicious said.
“I wish he was,” Yura mumbled, but I heard her all too well.
That comment didn’t sit well Kallik, who looked wore out, but wasn’t too tired to give me another hateful look. I just smiled at him and he stormed off. Mylicious smiled as Mila gave him a playful smack on the shoulder. Tarkik laughed and looked at me.
“He just doesn’t like you for some reason, I, on the other hand, think you’re a good person,” he said, his skinny face, lit up with a smile.
“Thank you, same goes for you,” I said and walked out into the main room. It was then, I noticed Mila staring at my feet.
“You’re right, he needs moccasins, those won’t last long here. Come here and have a seat,” she said and guided me over to seat by the fire. She took a piece of rope and measured my foot from the heal to the toe. Then measured around my foot, “You’ll have a pair by tomorrow morning.”
“You don’t have to, I’m fine with what I got,” I said and wiggled my toes.
“No family member of mine is going to be walking around with their toes sticking out,” Mila said, she got up and disappeared down the center tunnel.
“She will stay up all night working on those,” Tapeesa said and it was then I caught her scent, it wasn’t so floral as Mila’s and Yura’s, but pleasant, nonetheless. It was then I caught Tarkik giving me an odd look.
He walked up to me and put his arm on my arm and pulled me close, “Please don’t take her from me.”
“What? I’m not here to take anyone,” I said.
“You caught her scent though, I could tell by the way you crinkled your nose,” he said concerned.
“Trust me, I have no intentions of taking anyone, away from anything,” I said, and I could see a look of relief on his face. The moon made the wolves very moody. The men were over protective, and the women were too nice.
Mylicious walked up to me next, “Now tomorrow night might get a little strange for you. I will show you in the morning where I work at. I will give you detailed list on what to do. You can partake in the activities if you like, my children won’t be attending and usually Yura, since she has no interest in Kallik, keeps an eye on them. Once the transformations take place it might a little uncomfortable for you. Yura will transform as well, but my kids will not. As I’ve learned, born werewolves don’t transform until later in life. Now they will get feisty and crave the blood, but other than that, they’re just normal wolfen children.”
“I don’t think there is anything normal about wolfen children,” I said and laughed a little, probably not the best comment to make.
“You are right, there,” he chuckled, “I’m off to bed brother, I have Jorgie berries to smash up in the morning for my drink.”
“I can’t believe you drink that stuff and enjoy it.”
“It’ll grow on you!”
“I doubt that,” I said, not ever wishing to drink that stuff again.
With Mylicious off to bed and most of the pack as well, it left me with Kallik, Yura and Amaruq. They were messing around by the fire, cleaning out the pan-like stones used for the fish. Yura stayed away from Kallik but he always moved closer to her and she would move further away. I think finally, he had enough.
“Why won’t you mate with me? You walk around here spreading your scent around,” he spoke loudly, tossing his hands up in the air, “for who though, if not me? That thing?” he said and pointed to me.
“I’ve told you more than enough times, I’m not interested in you, you’re not one to settle down. You’re always off to the main land and you seem to have no issues mating with wolves from other packs,” Yura said, keeping her voice down.
“Why would I want to settle down? Mylicious should have stuck with the pack and not had a family as well,” Kallik said, I sensed a lot of jealousy.
“The pack is the family, he simply just added to it. Do you think he loves you any less because he has childeren?” Yura’s eyes squinted a little.
“You don’t know what you’re talking about,” Kallik raised his voice a little. Amaruq looked scared, then scurried down the center tunnel.
“I’m sure I do, you let your emotions show way too easily. I have no time in my life
