as Harper and Kimberly’s.

“You found something?” Harper asked, her eyes bright as they shot between his and Sandy’s. “Why didn’t you say anything?”

Sandy smiled up at him, then shrugged and looked back at Harper. “It wasn’t just my news to share, it was ours.”

“Well, don’t keep us in suspense,” Kyle said, his arms around Kimberly and his chin resting on the top of her head.

“We found a house in the northern part of the city that’s about fifteen minutes from Mom and Dad.” Shooting his brothers a smile, he added, “And it’s only about ten minutes from each of your places.”

While he accepted their congratulations, he listened as Sandy gushed, “It’s absolutely darling! It only has three bedrooms, but it’s got a great yard that’s already fenced in. The kitchen and bathrooms have been remodeled, and there’s a two-car garage that’s attached as well as a basement. And there’s plenty of room to build an additional bedroom and den in the future if we want.”

“When do you move?” Kimberly asked.

“The owners wanted a quick sale, so we close in a month. Rory’s already been out of his shared apartment and moved into my townhouse, so it’ll be easier to move everything from one place.”

“We’ll turn it into a family affair,” Sean assured, and he knew that meant they didn’t have to deal with movers. With the McBrides and Kings helping, their move-in day would be a huge celebration. One that would be capped with a trip to the shelter to get a dog to go along with Ocee.

The group chatted a few more minutes, but it had been a long day in the trenches with the ambulance calls almost nonstop. Sandy’s business had boomed despite the problems with Partridge Tower, keeping her busy as well. While Anthony had to deal with his legal issues, his father, Albert, took over running the Tower, spending money to ensure that the wiring was up to code. Besides the offices in the Tower, she’d had many new clients elsewhere in the city.

Bending, he whispered, “Babe, you about ready to go home?” As always, when her gaze hit him, she smiled. And just like he knew it would, it warmed straight through to his soul.

“Absolutely.”

“Then finish your drink, sweetheart.”

She lifted the glass and downed the rest of the liquid as he pulled money from his wallet and tossed it to the bar, offering a chin lift to Torin. Glancing toward Erin, he asked, “Need a lift home?”

Her lips curved softly, and she shook her head. “No, I’m covered.”

He had no idea if that meant one of his brothers was taking her home, she drove, or had other plans. And he wasn’t going to ask. He simply nodded, then offered a hand to assist Sandy down from the barstool. With goodbyes called out, he escorted her out of the pub, one hand resting lightly on her lower back and the other stretched out to guide her through the crowd.

Once at his truck, he helped her inside, then stood in the open passenger door, leaning in for a kiss. Now that they were alone, he took it deep, and just like always felt the jolt straight to his cock. Sweeping his tongue through her warm mouth, he was hit with the familiar taste. Lemon Drops. Sweet and tart. Her drink, her taste, and her.

Hell, yeah, I’m a lucky bastard.
