clip with wide eyes.

Once it was over, the Scavenger said, “Now you believe me?”

The Unicorn swallowed. “How do I know it isn’t fake?”

“You don’t,” the Scavenger. “But you need to trust me.”

The Scavenger took out the letter of the Necron Kings from his pocket and said, “Look at this. You are unknowingly serving a villain whose aim is to get the Pages of Destiny, combine them and take the Skull Warrior out from the dimension in which he is trapped.”

“Oh! Forget it,” the Unicorn King said while taking the letter of the Necron Kings from the Scavenger’s hands, “No one ever knows where the Pages of Destiny are. It’s a legend. Don’t try to fool around.”

The Scavenger smiled, “You know what? I have both the Pages of Destiny in my possession.”

The Unicorn King stared the Scavenger straight in his eyes. The kind of confidence that he saw in his eyes shook him.

The Scavenger spoke, “You are wise to see the truth in my eyes. But don’t trust my words. Just look up.”

The Scavenger clicked his fingers as the Unicorn King looked up. The Magic Compartment appeared and partially opened to give a glimpse of the two Pages of Destiny to the Unicorn King. The Unicorn King’s legs grew weak as he recognized the mark of great power on those pages. The Scavenger closed the Magic Compartment and it disappeared.

The Unicorn King took a minute to think as he looked at the letter of the Kings of Necron. The evidence given by the Scavenger was too strong to refute. The clip, the pages, and now the mark on the letter.

The Unicorn King spoke, “I recognize the emblem of the Necron Kings. I trust you.”

The Scavenger heaved a sigh of relief. “Thank goodness, at least you trust me. I had a bitter experience with the King of the White City whom I could not convince.”

“Don’t worry, I will speak to him,” the Unicorn King said.

After spending a few more minutes in discussion with the Unicorn King, the Scavenger emerged out on the other side of the meadows. The children were eagerly waiting for him. He clambered up on the Chariot of Destruction once again with a grin on his face.

“It’s done,” he said. “Your idea worked, James. It was impossible for the Unicorn King to ignore Cayden’s video, the visual proof of the Pages of Destiny and the letter of the Necron Kings. He also assured me that he will speak to the King of the White City and try to bring allies to Cotton Village as soon as possible.”

The children whooped in celebration. After a short while, they left the place in the Chariot of Destruction.

While on the way, Archer said, “I don’t think it is safe anymore to park our chariot at the same spot in the forest as we did before. Osay must have discovered it by now and who knows, traps could be waiting for us.”

“I also had the same thought,” Daniel said.

“That’s correct. We need to be extremely cautious,” James said.

The Scavenger nodded. “Pyros had already thought about this. He has shared coordinates of a safe underground spot inside the forest. We will be putting up there.”

After a few hours, they reached the outskirts of the dense forest just beyond Cotton Village. Once they all got down from the Chariot, the Scavenger muttered something, and sent the chariot to the Magic Compartment.

“We couldn’t have taken the Chariot beyond this point. It’s a long walk from here. Just be silent,” the Scavenger said.

After few hours of walking, the Scavenger halted in front of a dense banyan tree. He kicked the base of the tree a few times.

A hole appeared as the ground just ahead of the tree parted, revealing a staircase below.

“What is that?” Daniel whispered in surprise.

“This secret tunnel goes to the underground lair of bandits,” The Scavenger said. He walked forward onto the stairs, explaining on the way. “About a century ago, I was sent on a mission to demolish this lair. There was a whole army of bandits here, and thousands of tunnels. But I managed to get all the tunnels to cave in, except this one. The bandits were either killed or arrested.”

The Scavenger closed down the hole above them and everything went dark. Archer summoned fire in his hands to light the way.

They went down the stairs and emerged in a massive cavern. Archer threw blobs of fire on the torches lined on the walls, lighting them up.

The Scavenger voice echoed in the silence.

“It’s a massive place. In case the Unicorn Kings gathers the allies in time, we will house all of them here.”

“I still don’t feel good about the place,” James said, looking around. “Osay must be aware of this place.”

The Scavenger shook his head. “No one knows about this spot. The bandits I am talking about existed a century ago. Rest assured, there is no way Osay can know about this.”

“Good. Then its time to plan our attack,” Daniel said.

The Scavenger summoned a table and a few chairs, and they sat around it.

“We have already decided that we will wait for Osay’s army to attack the Island of Humans. As soon as it happens, we will launch an attack at the Cotton Village Library,” the Scavenger said. “We are just four and, therefore, the only strategy that we can adopt is to attack from a distance. I have a few Magic Compartments that have loads of grenades, bombs, fiery arrows, and projectile weapons. We will use them from the outskirts.”

“Should we wait for the allies?” Daniel asked.

The Scavenger replied, “We will coordinate with the Unicorn King about their expected time of arrival at Cotton Village. We will attack Cotton Village from the outside when the allies are half an hour away from the Village.”

“I can understand the flow now,” James said. “When Osay attacks the Island of Humans, we will wait for our allies to reach us. When they are close by and only half an hour away, we will launch
