“I’m not having a flashback,” he growls.
“No?”
He shakes his head. “I just called Riggs and asked him to find someone else to watch Eva.”
“Why?”
“Because I can’t focus. I’ve let her leave this office alone. I’m not on the job.”
“She’ll be fine,” I say weakly.
“I’m too distracted,” he adds. “You distract me.”
“I don’t mea—” I begin, but then his hands go into my hair and his mouth presses against mine. It’s a hot, hungry kiss and as he devours my mouth, his hands tug gently at the roots of my hair. He walks me backwards, feeling around for the backroom door. Once inside, he lifts me off the ground and I wrap my legs around him. I can feel his erection pressing against me like a rod of steel. We pull apart for air. My lips feel swollen and bruised, but I can’t wait for his lips to crash against mine again because it’s so much hotter than I ever imagined it to be.
“I’ve gotta stay the fuck away from you,” he mutters, his eyes burning into my own. “I’ll ruin you.”
“I don’t ruin easily,” I whisper. The sound of our rapid pants fill the silence of the room. We continue to stare at each other. I can see in his eyes that he’s warring with himself, but I daren’t let this chance pass by, so I press my lips against his again in a rushed attempt to make him see that it’s what I want . . . what I need.
“Gia.” I freeze at the sound of Vinn’s voice.
“Shit,” I hiss, dropping my feet to the floor. I straighten my hair and then my skirt before wiping a hand over my lips. “You need to hide,” I add, alarmed that Blu looks slightly amused rather than scared.
“Princess, I don’t fuckin hide from anyone,” he mutters, pulling the door open and stepping into the office. Vinn watches him pass, heading straight for the exit to go and find Eva, I presume.
“What the fuck was that?” asks Vinn, glaring at me.
“Nothing. He was putting some boxes back for me,” I point back into the room, “on a high shelf.” Vinn’s eyes linger on me a little too long and I begin to shuffle papers on my desk as a distraction. “What are you doing here?” I ask.
“Stay away from the bikers, Gia. We’ve got a good thing going with them and you can’t be the reason that it stops,” he says seriously.
“Stop being ridiculous. Are you here for a reason?”
“Just passing,” he mutters. “Thought I’d check in and see how your date went.”
I roll my eyes. “Like you haven’t spoken to Ric already?”
“I spoke to him,” he admits. “I didn’t ask him about the date cos that would be weird.”
“He told me his family has been left in a mess after his dad’s passing,” I say. “What can he offer the organisation if he has nothing?”
Vinn smiles. “A man on his knees can bring us so much more than a man with everything.”
BLU
Blade hands me a beer. Since arriving here in London, I’ve kept myself to myself. Occasionally, I have a drink with Riggs or Chains, but most of the time, I’m a loner. I prefer it that way. I’m not the type of guy who talks about feelings and shit. I learnt early that giving too much away about yourself leads to heartache. When I was in the Manchester charter, Cobra would take information from the guys to use it when he needed something. I watched him break many men that way. I know Riggs is nothing like that and I’m learning to relax around his club. It seems like family is important to everyone around here, which is something I could get used to. It means I can’t fuck it all up by crossing the line with Gia.
“You ever feel like you’re missing out?” asks Blade.
I follow his gaze to where Raven is sitting with Chains. “What are you talking about?”
He shrugs his shoulders. “All the guys are getting ol’ ladies. I’m here like,” he looks around, “bring me pussy and lots of it cos I’m not settling for one. What is it about these women that my brothers can’t resist?”
I snigger. “Brother, you haven’t met the right one is all.”
“The right one?” he repeats.
“The one who’ll make all other pussy taste rancid. All you’ll wanna do is fuck that same bitch until the end of time.”
He shakes his head. “Not me, brother. It ain’t happening to me. You got someone?”
I shake my head. “Not anymore,” I mutter, taking a drink from my pint glass.
“Christ, who the fuck chopped off your dicks and fed them to the dogs?” asks Chains, joining us.
“I was just telling Blu that I’ll never get myself an ol’ lady like you dickless bastards,” says Blade.
“I once said the same thing,” Chains replies. “Now, I got one with a kid on the way.”
“Leia’s a different kind,” says Blade. “She’s all cute and innocent,” he adds and Chains raises a brow in warning. “I’m just saying there ain’t many around the club like her. Who the fuck is left for me anyway? I got Pinky,” he says, pointing to the landlady who’s serving from behind the bar, “or Frankie.”
I laugh at the thought of Blade trying to get with Riggs’ mum. “She’d eat you alive,” I point out.
The door opens and my breath lodges
