You gained 7,790 total experience in Woodworking.
Success! You’ve reached levels 12, 13, and 14 in Woodworking.
The enormous boost in his experience was fantastic. All told, he had 492 rings to sell. The pure profit from the deal was insane and made him wonder why others hadn’t done it yet. If his estimates were correct. He’d get 3 gold and 69 silver from them all.
“Master Grannith, can I ask a question that may seem odd?”
“Wouldn’t be the first time,” he said with a smile.
“Does no one else consider buying these materials like I have and getting fast experience?”
“Not a terrible question. I’m not sure if they’ve done it in other places, but I know I’ve seen no one doing it yet. Typically, it’s because of one of two reasons. The first is the most common. They are usually broke. Their skill training and food sets their pockets back in addition to their class spells. They save every bit of money they have to buy new armor or save up for combat skills at the Weaponmaster.”
Damn, I forgot all about the Weaponmaster. I need to find one here and see what he may have available.
“The second reason is impatience. The locals can’t craft anything nearly as fast as you Reborn so they don’t try it and the reborn are in a hurry to continue running off to fight and hunt items for quests. Few dedicate the time to pursue a craft seriously.”
“That sounds about like us,” Atlas grumbled, “Always in a rush to the end and never stopping to enjoy the moment.”
“That’s an excellent summary, and I can’t disagree with the assessment.”
“Well, I have four-hundred and ninety-two of the Smooth Wood Rings I’d like to sell you in the back room. It’s a large stack and didn’t want to carry them all up here.”
“You made that many in a few hours of work? Truly marvelous. Are you sure you want to sell them?” he asked.
“Why wouldn’t I? I can get a decent amount of money for them.”
“If your goal is to make a good profit, I’d suggest an alternate route. Have you considered taking up the Jewelcrafting skill? I know the early stages of the skill require some carving of pieces and little trinkets, but once you hit level 5, you can use these rings. Almost five hundred of them would launch you pretty far in terms of skill, and since the items you need to change these are mostly from a vendor, it would greatly increase your profit.”
Hmm, do I really want to invest in another skill? It’s a lot of work to invest time in these, but they have paid off handsomely so far.
“What would you suggest? I’m tempted to do just that, but I worry it will take up too much time juggling so many skills?”
“It’s an investment of your time to be sure, but at early stages, Woodworking and Jewelcrafting go hand in hand. When you reach a higher level in Jewelcrafting much of the work shifts focus to blacksmithing but, done properly, you can have enough money to buy the items you need without trouble.”
The woodworker made an excellent point. If these rings sold for a silver a piece now, there’s no telling what each would go for if boosted by a jeweler.
“I think I need to talk to the Jewelcrafter. Can I store these rings here with you for a short time?”
“I suppose so. I have some buckets in the back storage room. Fill them up and put them back in there. No one will disturb them. Just make sure they don’t stay there long or I’ll sell them and keep the money for myself.”
Atlas nodded and did as told. He ran around the room, scraping wooden rings off the floor and tossing them in the buckets. Three buckets later and he had them all stashed in the room Master Grannith showed. With a wave, he dashed from the building and headed in the direction the master told him to go.
The sign of the Jewelcrafting shop was easy to spot. The image of a ring with a large gem attached decorated the sign. It reminded Atlas of the old school wedding rings with their gaudy diamonds sticking way away from the main body.
Inside, he found a large room filled with carved wooden items of varying styles. Most looked to be purely decorative, while others had symbols etched into them. As he moved closer to the desk, the little knick-knacks disappeared and wooden rings and necklaces filled the shelves. At the desk, a beautiful necklace of some type of silver metal sat in a display case, much like the one he’d seen the staff in earlier. This piece held a large sapphire in the center of a teardrop shaped piece of metal and hung from a chain around a wooden prop.
“You in the market?” the old man at the counter asked.
“Actually,” Atlas said slowly, still marveling at the item, “I’m here to learn Jewelcrafting.”
“Starting a little late, aren’t ya?”
“Better late than never.”
“Fine, fine. No use trying to talk you foolish kids out of anything. Here ya go,” he said with a flick as the menu popped up for Atlas. He selected Learn Jewelcrafting and hit Buy. Ten silver drained from him as the messages flooded his senses.

Huh, Wooden Buttons? Looks like some items can be made by more than one profession.
This profession was pretty straightforward. The Create Wooden Slabs ability used 1 Rough Wood Log and turned it into 6 Wooden Slabs. These slabs were the base building material for the other skills he’d learned.
A scan through his other wares showed he also had Rough Wood
