I have such a hot body.”

That he did. Reno wasn’t going to argue that point. “And because you have the sweetest lips I’ve ever tasted.” He backed up his statement with a deep, passion-filled kiss. Reno was getting hard all over again, but knew they didn’t have time for round two. As much as he would have loved to take his mate all over again, they needed to get dressed.

Reno broke the kiss, smiling down at the man who meant the world to him. “Your dad is going to be here—” Reno’s head snapped up when the doorbell rang. “Oh shit.”

They both laughed together as they dressed. Reno couldn’t get the smile off of his face. He was happy. Walking into Sweet Delight had changed his life. Reno would be forever grateful that his boss had a sweet tooth because he found the sweetest thing of all.

Baker.

* * * *

Reno stepped out onto the back porch, cell phone in hand as he took a seat. The morning light was just filtering in over the trees, the birds singing all around.

He flipped his phone open and dialed his parents’ home. He was going to have to take Baker to meet them, but that was for another time. They lived far enough away.

“When were you going to call me?” his mother chastised him. “I could have sworn you said you would call as soon as you settled in.”

Reno smiled. God, how he missed his mother. “I’m fine, Mom. Is Dad there?”

She clucked her tongue. “You better come for a visit…soon. I miss you.”

Reno waited and then heard his dad’s burly tone come over the line. “Son?”

“Hey, Pop.”

“You know you had your mother worried.” That wasn’t Reno’s intention. Everything seemed too happy so quickly that he hadn’t a chance to call. Too much had been going on.

“I found my mate.”

His father was silent for a moment and then chuckled. “Congratulations. When are you going to bring her by?”

“Him,” Reno corrected. His parents knew he was bisexual and had never batted an eye at Reno’s lifestyle. But his dad was old school, just like Baker’s father. He automatically assumed Reno’s mate would be female.

“Oh, okay. When are you going to bring him by?”

“I need to ask you something,” he said as he rubbed his hand over the back of his neck. There was no way he was going to give his dad too many details, but he needed to know. “The mating dance.”

“What about it?”

“Halfway through the dance, I was more interested in dating Baker than stalking him. What went wrong?”

His father gave a very deep chuckle. “Son, there is no set pattern to the way the dance works. Every mating is different. I didn’t even stalk your mother.”

That was news to him. “You didn’t?”

“Nope. We had a traditional mating. It works differently for every coyote. Your uncle almost went mad when pursuing your aunt. He stalked her until she finally kicked his ass and let the man claim her.”

Reno was stunned. “But Aunt Beatrice seems so meek, so submissive.”

His dad snorted. “Don’t let her size and temperament fool you. She gets into Bernard’s ass when he pushes her too far. My point is, there is nothing wrong with your coyote. He just decided to date your mate instead of stalking him.”

Reno was relieved to find out he wasn’t broken. It took a load off of his mind. “I have vacation time coming in a few months. I’ll bring Baker out there to meet the family.”

“Looking forward to your visit, son.”

Reno hung up, feeling a hell of a lot better. His mating had gone off without a hitch—aside from Baker calling the cops and one deranged-ass human being stalking him. He was now mated, Baker living with him, and life seemed to be finally going smoothly.
