for the pain that they have caused countless others. It will never be enough, but at least I’ll be able to walk out of here free from what they tried to do to me, and bringing two innocent women with me to that freedom as well.

“I’m untouchable. Even if you kill me, someone will come for you. The country will not allow for one of their leaders to be taken and not ask questions.”

I lean forward, a grin on my face, my eyes showing just how fucking crazy I feel right now. “Nobody is going to give a shit that another dirty politician, who was probably in office too goddamn long anyway, bit the fucking dust. Get over yourself.”

He opens his mouth to say something else, but I have no fucking desire to hear anything that comes out of him, not unless it’s a scream. Reaching forward, I use the knife and I sink it just enough into the top of his chest to pierce his skin, but not too far that it’s going to do anything to truly hurt him, not yet.

Dragging the knife down his middle, I’m careful not to harm any vital organs. I’m not about to have him bleed out. Not yet. Soon. Just not yet.

Chapter Twenty-Eight

AVAH

I should be horrified. I know that I should. But I’m not. I’m not turned on, but seeing the senator die, watching the way the life drains from his body in the most disturbing of ways is oddly satisfying.

Taylee doesn’t move even an inch, she doesn’t even change her breathing patterns as she watches her brother be flayed alive, only after he’s been fucked in the ass with a broom handle. It’s kind of amazing, the way that these men completely dehumanized all four of those assholes.

I shouldn’t think like that, but I can’t stop myself, because they had no problem at all whatsoever dehumanizing us, or watching us being dehumanized. They had zero problem with anything that they did. I know that the senator enjoyed it, but I think the rest of them did too. They didn’t apologize, not even when they were being tortured.

“We’re done here,” Dragon announces.

A few of the men helped Hawk, and they’re all covered in blood. Hawk, Bones, and Dragon have blood everywhere. Their faces, their beards, their clothes—everywhere.

“Got the truck ready for the girls?” Bones asks, turning to look at one of his men.

“Got my bike?” Hawk asks, his voice deep and husky.

“Back of the truck, brother,” Dragon announces.

Hawk jerks his chin, then his gaze meets mine. “My woman rides on the back of my bike,” he announces.

“I’m wrapped in a sheet,” I whisper.

He shakes his head once. “My woman rides on the back of my bike,” he repeats.

“Okay.”

Worm walks around the corner, his eyes taking in the scene of skinned people, and he whistles, then turns to Dragon.

“Got the tapes almost finished. Just gotta wrap it up after you guys leave,” he announces.

His gaze flicks from Dragon to Taylee, and he freezes on her, not looking away. Turning my head, I look behind my shoulder to her, and she has her eyes on him as well, but she breaks the contact first, looking down at her feet and shifts uncomfortably.

With blood drenching their bodies, the men leave. Worm and a few prospects stay behind to clean up the evidence that the Beasts and Skulls were ever there, they fuck with the tapes while we all wait outside.

“When the cops come...” Taylee begins.

Dragon snorts, smiling and his white teeth show, making him look like a lunatic with the dark beard and dark stained skin, the blood drying on him. “They’re in our pocket. When the Feds come, everything will be cleaned up and there won’t be a single trace of us, or you, left behind.”

“How?”

“It’s why it took us a couple of days. We had to make sure all of our ducks were in a row before we just busted through the doors. Walsh was right, in a sense. He was a senator and he did have power, just not enough to get him out of the mess he inserted himself into. The locals know what kind of sick shit he was into and they were happy to help us out.”

We’re quiet for a moment, waiting for Worm and the other guy to come out of the house. Taylee sucks in a breath, wrapping the sheet around her a bit tighter.

“Wouldn’t it have been easier to just expose him?” she naively asks.

I don’t let anyone else answer, instead I turn to her. “Then he could have buried it. Called his reporter friends to cover it up, called his group of sickos to make it all go away. He’s not the only high-powered person in his circle, without a doubt.”

“How do we find the rest of them?” she asks.

My lips curve up into a grin. She wants the other fuckers gone. I don’t blame her at all, not a single bit. I open my mouth to say something, but Worm walks out the door, the Skull guy behind him, and he grins as he jogs in our direction.

“Worm will help you with that, if that’s what you want to do,” Dragon says.

“With what?” Worm asks, a grin playing on his lips.

“Finding those motherfuckers who were in Walsh’s band of sick fucks,” Hawk says.

“Oh, I’m fucking down for that shit,” he says almost excitedly. “I like a good challenge and I already have a few clues lined up.”

“Guess she’s comin’ back with us, that is, until she finds the information she needs,” Dragon announces, jerking his chin toward Bones.

Bones chuckles, then hums softly. “We’ll see,” he says.

I open my mouth to ask exactly why they’re fighting over where Taylee is sent. They can’t want her to be a clubwhore, they wouldn’t do that, would they?

“No, they wouldn’t,” Hawk grunts.

Lifting my hand, I cover my mouth and turn to him, my eyes wide in disbelief that I said the words aloud. He grins, shaking
