Lily walked up, from her spot next to Heidi, to give me a hug. “She’s making us something called Pork Sisig for dinner.”
I kissed her on the lips before focusing on Winter’s back again, beginning to tug Lily closer while holding onto her. “Smells amazing. What kind of dish is it?”
Winter responded without looking, speaking loud enough to be heard over the sizzling. “It’s a Filipino dish my mom loves.” She looked over her shoulder again, her pale green eyes endearing. “And yeah, it is kind of like a fajita,” she added with a small smile.
Suddenly it clicked. There was just the slightest trace of an Asian look to her face.
“You’re part-Filipino,” I said more as a statement than a question.
She nodded. “Yes. A fourth. Though most people would never guess it, with how pale I am. My mom has pretty tan skin, but my bio-father is pretty pale too.”
I silently wanted to inquire more about her past, but didn’t want to ruin the mood in the event she didn’t want to talk about it. Thus, I changed the subject back to food, realizing I was pretty sure we didn’t already have all the ingredients she was using.
She beat me to it though.
“Yeah, I went out to grab a lot of this stuff. Freya let me borrow her car.” She paused, glancing at me. “It’s a really nice car. I might have to get myself one.”
I chuckled. “Yeah, it is, and now that I’m thinking about it, I can’t wait to go car shopping.” I looked back at Lexi, who was sitting at the table now with a small smile. “When you go looking for a new one, you have to take me with you, okay?”
Lexi grinned. “Sounds like you’re asking me to take you on a date,” she teased.
I returned the smile. “I mean, if you were going to take me on one, then that’s definitely a kind I’d really like.”
She winked. “Then I’ll have to see if I can borrow you sometime this weekend.” She paused, glancing at Lily. “Or maybe we can try to take the day off on Friday. Car shopping can be an all-day thing, and I don’t want to steal you away for an entire Saturday or Sunday.”
“Could possibly make it a double date,” Lily suggested. “Although, I’m not sure how that would go without someone feeling like a third wheel.”
“I don’t mind being a third wheel,” Winter unexpectedly blurted out, only to look at me like she was shocked at herself. She then focused past us to look at Lexi. “But I won’t intrude. Sorry. A date should be a date.”
Needless to say, it seemed Lexi was a little flustered to have Winter respond to her without her even getting a word out. “It’s…it’s alright,” she finally said. “But yeah, I kind of want to go alone with Sam, if that’s okay.”
“I don’t have a problem with it,” Lily replied. “But if you can do Friday, that would be nice.”
“And,” I added. “We kind of need to replace a few vehicles, so this doesn’t have to be a one-time thing.” I glanced at Heidi.
“Don’t look at me,” she scoffed playfully. “I don’t think I want another car. I’d rather just go with someone than drive myself someplace.”
Lexi looked concerned. “Still bothering you?” she wondered quietly.
Heidi sighed, and then shook her head. “No, it’s not that. I just feel like, what’s the point of going someplace by myself? I don’t have a job. Don’t really want a job either, if I’m being honest. And aside from that I can’t think of a reason why I’d want to go out by myself.”
“You have a job,” Lily countered. “You help out a ton with Rose. And Eden too. You’re like a live-in nanny.” She grinned. “The hot kind.”
Heidi’s cheeks flushed. “T-Thanks.”
Lexi spoke up again. “Well, sis, if you change your mind, it’s really no big deal for me to get you one. There’s not really a car I can’t buy outright.”
Heidi nodded. “Thanks,” she said again.
Winter cleared her throat. “Well, dinner is ready. The last part is to crack an egg over it, and let the heat from the meat cook it, but I think I’ll just do one skillet first, so everyone can try to see if they want the egg or not.”
Heidi popped up from her seat, walking over. “I’ll eat anything, so I don’t care.”
Lexi chimed in too. “Yeah, make it how it’s supposed to be made, Winter. We’ll eat it.”
Winter glanced at Lily, smiled seemingly at her thoughts, and then began cracking an egg over each skillet full of pork, chili peppers, and whatever else she had frying in there.
Dinner was great.
Dessert was great too, though it was just ice cream from the freezer this time. Can’t expect every meal to come with hot sexy times afterward, even with five grown women in the house.
20: Round Two
Lily Dodson
April 26, 2735 – 3 Days Later – Early Evening
Lily sat in the master bedroom, wearing a small pair of black FRIL shorts, coupled with a simple cherry-red FRIL camisole top. Trying to swallow the lump in her throat, she focused on her purple latex sheets, running her hand across them to listen to them crinkle in an attempt to not think too much.
She was nervous. Really nervous.
It was Friday, and Lexi had managed to get the day off for her and Sam, which meant they’d gone car shopping for a good portion of the day. However, Heidi also really wanted to go on another date with Sam too, so when Lexi and Sam got back, he then spent some time socializing with the family before taking Heidi out for a few hours.
Nothing too unusual about any of that, at this point.
However, then Freya dragged Lily into the bedroom, told her to wait, and proceeded
