Cast on 53 (57, 63) sts. Work in seed stitch until piece measures 11” (11 ½“, 13”).

ARMHOLE SHAPING

Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows.

Bind off 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows. K2tog at each end of every other row 2x (4x, 4x).

When armhole measures 8½” put all remaining 39 (39, 42) sts on stitch holder.

FRONT

Proceed same as back until armhole measures 3” less than back.

Put the center 11 sts on stitch holder.

Attach another ball of yarn. At neck edge every other row bind off 3 sts 1 x, 2 sts 1 x.

K2tog every other row 1x. When piece measures same as back put all sts on holder.

FINISHING

Join shoulder seams together with a three–needle bindoff.

With size 11 needles pick up and knit 57 sts around neck. Work in seed stitch for 1½”.

Bind off loosely in pattern.

Single crochet 1 row around each armhole and around bottom of sweater.

With 1 strand of Victoria and 1 strand of Angora Super and smaller hook, chain 38".

Join with a slip stitch, careful not to twist. Place marker.

Sc in each stitch all around.

Start pattern:

ROUND 1: Dc in 1st st, chain 1, dc in the same st. Place marker in that st. ∗ Chain 1, dc, skip 1 st. ∗

Repeat from ∗ to ∗ to the middle of round. Dc, chain 1, dc all in the same st. Mark that st. Repeat until the end of round.

ROUND 1: ∗ Chain 7, skip 7 ∗ across round.

ROUND 2: ∗ Chain 7, skip 3, join in 4th chain, skip 3, chain 7 ∗ repeat from ∗ to ∗ across round.

ROUND 3: Repeat round 2.

ROUND 4: Chain 9, repeat as above.

Work 3 rows, same as round 4.

ROUND 8: Chain 11.

Work 3 rows even.

ROUND 12: Chain 13, work 2 rounds.

ROUND 14: Change to 2 strands of darker color, work 2 rounds. Fasten off.

With 2 strands of darker color, tighten up neck, if necessary, with a single crochet, 3 sts in a row, skip 1.
