single person and blindly following his commands—this man was Briggs!

“Listen up now!”

Briggs was dressed in dragon robes and had a crown on his head. He gave off a powerful, majestic aura as he stood proudly in the sky above the palace and overlooked the hundred thousands of people prostrating on the ground.

Among these hundred thousands of people were princes and princesses, the empress and royal consorts, palace maidservants and eunuchs, as well as the Royal Holy Knight Order and the palace guards.

“From today onward, I am Dragon God Empire’s newly-appointed Dragon Emperor! My words are the royal decree! Those who dare defy orders will be slain at once and shown no mercy!”

His mighty and imposing speech resounded throughout the palace and outside it. Everyone was filled with trepidation, their hearts nervous and fearful, yet no one dared to question him.

“Now, I will issue my first decree!”

Briggs was awfully smug. He was the son of a great half-deity, and hence he had been born with a half-deity’s body.

Just how noble was that?

Just how venerable was that?

Yet he simply had no chance at the throne at all!

Just how miserable was that?

Just how sad was that?

However, his wish had finally come true on this day!

“Throw all these goddamn eunuchs out and change them all to palace maidservants!

“Leave the empress and the Royal Consorts!

“The princes and princesses, too! Throw the princes out and leave the princesses!”

With that, Briggs issued his very first royal decree.

Upon hearing such a near-ridiculous decree, everyone was filled with grief, fury, and indignation, yet there was simply nothing they could do. Not only was the new emperor from Dragon Island a half-deity, but he had even brought 500 Saint Domain experts with him.

With such terrifying power and overpowering might, who would dare defy him? Who would dare challenge his authority?

“Have all of you heard my decree loud and clear?”

Briggs shouted coldly, his voice like the rolling thunder.

“Yes, we heard you loud and clear, Your Majesty!”

Everyone hastily replied aloud.

“Great! Get down to it, then!”

With a big wave, Briggs ordered, “Everyone may disperse, but the empress is to stay. By the way, order the imperial kitchen to make me a few light dishes. I’m hungry!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

As though they had just been granted amnesty, everyone dispersed and left, leaving behind only a gorgeous, dignified, and graceful young lady still on her knees—it was the empire’s empress and the palace’s previous female master.

Briggs’ gaze swept across the empress, and he licked his lips. Then, to the 500 Saint Domains behind him, he ordered, “You’re dismissed!”

“Yes, Your Majesty!”

...

“Who’s that guy?”

Meng Lei stood among the clouds, currently extremely displeased.

He had fought so hard and so desperately, only to receive not even a single cent. And now, someone had snatched his throne, too.

“Does justice still exist? Is there still any law and order?!”

Meng Lei couldn’t help but break into a loud rant.

“Who is it?”

A cold shout rang out. Several figures instantly arrived at where he was and surrounded him.

“They’ve discovered me?”

Meng Lei was a little startled.

“Who are you? Why are you hiding here and sneaking around here?”

A muscular, two-meters-tall Golden Colossal Dragon Person with firm muscles all over his body barked fiercely at him.

“Sneaking around? Are you blind? Am I sneaking around?” Meng Lei was displeased. “I’m openly standing here, alright?!”

“How audacious!!”

With a snort of displeasure, the Golden Colossal Dragon Person ordered, “Arrest him! And hand him over to His Majesty for further instructions!”

“Yes, Lord Clement!”

Then, a few Dragon People charged toward Meng Lei, who didn’t resist and instead allowed them to arrest him and bring him over to Briggs.

“Who’s that?” asked Briggs casually after he cast a glance at Meng Lei. Then, he continued to ogle at the beautiful empress, the look in his eyes openly lustful. He was just a step short of salivating.

“He’s probably a random Saint Domain passing by,” replied Clement, the Golden Colossal Dragon Person, respectfully.

“Just kill him then!”

Briggs waved dismissively, completely disinterested in Meng Lei.

“Yes, Your Majesty!” replied Clement. Then, with a wave, he ordered, “Bring him a little further away and kill him!”

“Yes, sir!”

“Let me go! Let me go! Your Majesty, you can’t kill me! You can’t kill me!”

Extremely horrified and fearful, Meng Lei began to wail at the top of his lungs like a big fat pig whose arms and legs had been caught, its tail grasped, and its mouth gagged.

His screams and shouts were hoarse and heart-wrenching.

“I’m your great benefactor! If not for me, would you have the chance to become the emperor? If not for me, you’d still be a Magical Beast on Dragon Island! You can’t repay my kindness with enmity and kill your great benefactor...”

“Eh?”

With a slight frown, Briggs’ sharp, blade-like gaze fell on Meng Lei, and he asked, “What are you talking about? How does me becoming the emperor have anything to do with you?”

“Of course it has something to do with me!”

Meng Lei hastily explained, “If I hadn’t killed the old emperor, would you have the chance to become the new emperor? Your Majesty, you must give credit where it’s due and not repay kindness with enmity. You’ll suffer retribution if you do that, and neither will that bullshit Dragon God let you off...”

“You killed the old emperor?”

A mild jolt went through Briggs while the beautiful empress shuddered hard. The 500 Saint Domains’ countenances also changed dramatically.

“Who exactly are you?”

Briggs’ eyes bore into Meng Lei, hints of murderous intent coming over his eyes.

“Who am I? You don’t even know who I am? As expected, the Dragons are indeed a bunch of ingrates!”

A complete change from his previous lowly demeanor, Meng Lei broke into a rant and
