“What are you asking that for?”
Dodola raised an eyebrow.
“Give it to me!” Meng Lei said excitedly, “As long as I can get that spatial laws of nature fragment, I’ll have a way to comprehend spatial laws of nature!”
“You’re imagining things.”
A slight jolt went through Dodola, and it said, “That spatial laws of nature fragment is indeed with me, but as a form of supreme laws of nature, spatial laws of nature are billions and trillions of times more complex and profound than basic laws of nature. It’s not something that you can comprehend.”
“Say no more and just give it to me.” Meng Lei snickered and said, “Of course, if you also have other laws of nature fragments on you—such as quadruple-elemental or quintuple-elemental ones, or even supreme laws of nature fragments—you can also give them all to me!”
“Dream on!”
Dodola had a wary look all over its face as it said, “I don’t mind telling you this—there are indeed quite a few laws of nature fragments of various types among the assets that the great God of Time left behind.
“But all of them belong to the God of Time. Before you pass the God of Time’s trial, I can’t give them to you!”
“Dodola, you’re too inflexible.”
Meng Lei was rendered rather speechless. He said, “The God of Time has already fallen a long time ago. The so-called trial is also something that you’ve randomly set up. What sort of meaning does it even hold for me? Don’t you try bluffing me!”
Dodola sneered. “By the great God of Time’s order, one must pass the relevant trial before they can inherit all his assets. Otherwise, they can forget about even entertaining the thought!”
Meng Lei rolled his eyes and said, “Dodola, why are you so inflexible?”
“My life was bestowed upon me by the great God of Time. I will never defy his orders.” Dodola snorted and said, “It still goes back to the same old thing. If you wish to obtain the spatial laws of nature fragment and everything that belonged to the great God of Time, then you must pass the trial first!”
“You’re really so...” Meng Lei couldn’t be bothered to argue any further. He said, “So, tell me, what other trials are there?”
The first trial was to gain the Dragon God Empire’s people’s faith within 10,000 years. He had undoubtedly aced that with flying colors.
Dodola’s eyes swiveled about round and round. After a moment of contemplation, it said, “You’re already a higher deity now. As a powerful higher deity, how can you not own power of faith domains that complement your status?”
“So?”
Meng Lei raised an eyebrow and prompted Dodola further.
“Your second trial is—expand your territory, occupy at least 100 material planes, and make them your, a higher deity’s, power of faith domains!” answered a smiling Dodola.
“100 power of faith domains?” Meng Lei frowned slightly. “Where am I supposed to find and occupy that many existential planes?”
“It’s very simple!”
Dodola snickered and said, “Within an approximate range of 100 lightyears around Heaven’s Vault Continent exists many material planes that numbers definitely no fewer than 500. Among them are also the Beast God’s and the Titan Spiritual God’s power of faith domains.”
“Lightyears?”
Meng Lei was surprised. Did the concept of lightyears also exist in this world?
“Lightyears are a unit of distance. It refers to the distance that light travels in a straight line in one year in the Void and measures about one trillion kilometers.”
Dodola explained, “The Void is endless and boundless, so the units of measurement for length in Heaven’s Vault Continent evidently won’t be suitable for use when it comes to the Void.”
“Fair enough!”
Meng Lei nodded. Then, he asked, “Do you mean to say that there are another 500-odd material planes within 100 lightyears of Heaven’s Vault Continent?”
“Yes, that’s right. 100 lightyears covers an extremely vast area and is enough to contain too many material planes. 500 existential planes are already considered very few and sparsely distributed.”
Dodola nodded slightly and added, “Additionally, almost all of those material planes are controlled by true gods, with the Beast God and the Titan Spiritual God being two among them.
“As the saying goes, ‘If one doesn’t take what the heavens bestow upon them, misfortune brought about by it would instead befall them’!”
The corners of Meng Lei’s lips quirked upward and formed a smile. He said, “Since I’ve already become a higher deity, then it naturally follows that those material planes should also become my power of faith domains.”
“Work hard, then!” A smiling Dodola said, “As a higher deity, it doesn’t make sense if you don’t have enough power of faith domains to match your status.
“We’ll talk about this again later. For now, let’s deal with the stinky bug that is the Dragon God!”
Meng Lei turned to the floating continent in front of him.
...
“Ambrose is really a piece of trash!
“He’s a great higher deity, yet a cheap b*stard that’s only just broken through killed him!
“Trash! They are all trash!”
Someone had excavated a fairly wide and spacious cave in the deepest depths of the floating continent.
Embedded in the walls all around were all sorts of gleaming and glittering jewels and crystals. They decorated the whole cave and made it a fine and glorious sight. It looked beautiful and dazzling.
A shiny gold rug was laid out on the ground. A muscular middle-aged man sat limply on it and drowned his sorrows in alcohol while grumbling aloud.
That man was exactly the Dragon God himself.
“It’s finished! All finished! My divine nation and all my years of savings. They are all gone!”
The Dragon God downed a jar of wine, his eyes brimming with grief, sorrow, and indignation.
After Meng Lei had killed Ambrose, upon seeing that things had soured, he had immediately taken
