She moaned his name again, and he couldn’t stop himself from wanting more. Over and over, his orgasm was prolonged. He closed his eyes, basking in every second. It wasn’t exactly how he imagined their first time, but he knew he was going to enjoy teaching her how to enjoy sex. They had a lot of time to make up for.
Kissing her lips, he lifted up. “I’m going to run a bath. Stay here.” He eased out of her pussy and saw their combined releases mixed with blood on the sheets.
Drake went straight to the bathroom, ran a bath, added some soothing salts, which he used after he’d been in fights, and came back with a cloth. He wiped away the evidence, took her hands, and eased her off the bed.
She tried to hide her nakedness, so he caught both of her hands within his, not letting her hide any part of herself. She was precious, not to be hidden.
“You’re going to have to burn the sheets,” she said.
He had no intention of burning anything.
The blood on the blanket would be a reminder of who she belonged to. Mira had said she had nothing more to give him with the additional debt she’d rang up in waiting to decide. She had a hell of a lot more to give. Her body and womb were one payment. Her virginity covered a great deal more. But there was one more thing he wanted, and she had yet to give it to him.
Her love.
It was all he wanted. He didn’t want to force it from her, but earn it.
From some of the pictures he’d had taken of her without her knowledge, he knew she was capable of loving. He wanted to be the person she wanted, the person she looked to. The person she came to for everything.
This was one thing he wanted from her more than anything. The baby, the money, all of that was moot. Yes, he wanted her knocked up, but that was to keep her beside him for the rest of their lives.
“I’ll take care of the sheets,” he said.
“Just burn them,” she said. “They’re useless.”
He said nothing as he led her into the bathroom. The water was at a good level, and he checked the temperature. Helping her into the tub, he ordered her to relax, not sure if she would follow his instructions. He doubted it.
Returning to the bedroom, he bundled up the sheets and took them toward his office to deal with. She would never know that he kept them. He changed the bedding quickly and went to the bathroom, a little shocked to find her still in the stand-alone tub.
She didn’t open her eyes as she rested back on the ledge, and he took his fill of her.
So beautiful and open.
He didn’t know how long he’d loved her. It had been for a long time, but he’d been too fucking stubborn, waiting for the right moment to win her completely.
Some men would have started with dinner and dancing, not him. He knew the only way to win in life was to own the person completely, which was what he now had with Mira.
She opened her eyes and jerked up.
“Are you sore?” he asked.
“A little.” She cleared her throat and repeated the answer.
“That should fade,” he said.
“You didn’t use a condom,” she said.
He smiled. “I don’t need to. You belong to me, remember? That isn’t going to change.” He moved toward her and as she leaned forward, he climbed behind her.
He’d get what he wanted eventually. When it came to Mira, no wasn’t a good enough answer.
Chapter Four
Mira was no longer a virgin.
She wasn’t sure how she should feel. Although she’d never admit it, the sex had been amazing. It pissed her off as she was supposed to hate it. Mira had tried her hardest not to satisfy him or participate, but it was next to impossible with the way Drake touched her.
He’d gotten what he wanted. And she’d helped Nigel get out of trouble.
Now what?
It wasn’t as simple as having sex and walking away. Drake wanted more—everything. He expected her to have his children. Since they didn’t use a condom, there was no telling if she was pregnant now. The idea scared the hell out of her. Children should be raised in a loving family, not by two people contracted to breed. People who’d hated each other since high school.
“We have to be out of here in less than an hour, Mira.”
She sat up in the bed, her hair disheveled. What time was it? “Where are we going?”
“To work, of course.” He’d already showered and dressed. The man looked edible in a suit. He walked around the spacious bedroom getting ready for the day. She watched as he attached the clasp of his Rolex.
“Are you dropping me off at work?” She wasn’t sure what the details of her future entailed. Nothing was certain.
“That accounting gig? That’s done with. You’re coming to work with me.”
“But I don’t work for you.”
He adjusted his tie. “I spend a lot of time at work, Mira. I’m not wasting all those good baby-making hours being away from you.”
They were going to have sex in his office? Once the bully, always the bully. Any hope of Drake being the man she needed was quickly doused. She was his breeding vessel and nothing more.
“What should I wear?”
“Right, you have nothing here. We’ll go shopping later,” he said. “You’ll have to wear the same thing today. No panties.”
Once he left the room, she headed to the en-suite washroom and took a quick
