known existed until this moment.

She wanted to see what other places he could find that were sensitive like this.

Mel groaned, the sound muffled against Dallas as he placed a hand on her hip to support her even as his other hand kept her trapped between the door and his huge, immovable body. It was all she could do to just focus on keeping standing up while he continued to kiss and delve deeper, the heat of the moment making the air around her warmer by the second.

When he pulled away, watching her intently, she let out a harsh breath, her chest heaving to keep up with the sudden, immediate arousal that had erased all memory of any fear or embarrassment from a minute ago.

This kiss was even hotter, even stronger than the one they’d shared on the water tower.

She couldn’t hold back from him anymore.

“I want you,” he growled.

“So it’s not just me?” she said between breaths.

He shook his head slowly.

Just the way he continued to watch her sent a thrill of excitement down her spine.

“So where do we go from here?” A million unanswered questions were shooting through her brain.

Most of all, what Dallas looked like naked right now.

He grinned. Then suddenly, the ground disappeared beneath her as she was swept off her feet into Dallas’s arms, and he carried her back through the garden, barely making a single sound as he moved noiselessly through the plants and flower beds.

“Somewhere private,” was his response as more fireflies awoke, dancing around them as he carried her around the side of the main house.

Behind it, there were several small houses built a short distance off the main spread, and he strode confidently toward the largest one in the middle, which she could only guess was his home while here.

As long as they could continue what they’d just been doing and not have to stop for anything or anyone, she’d go anywhere just to be with Dallas right now.

He had made his intentions clear.

All she could do was wait and see where that took them both.

Dallas kicked open the front door of his house at Dragonclaw almost a little too hard, then shut it behind him and locked it before he carried Mel upstairs.

Every moment her curves were pressed to him like this, every second that passed without his hands or lips or tongue somewhere on his mate’s body, the more impatient he was becoming.

It had been sweet torture to kiss her last night up on the water tower. A promise his brain knew he needed to be wary of but his heart couldn’t stop from happening.

He wanted her with his whole soul. He wanted to protect her, even die for her if that was what it came to.

Maybe that was what a mate felt like.

They were upstairs in an instant, and he set Mel on the bed, admiring the curvy hourglass of her body and the way the light played over her beautiful heart-shaped face and gorgeous dark skin. Her eyes were sparkling with want and need, want he felt himself.

He’d tried to hold back. Tried to stay focused on his mission. Tried to stay distant. But it was impossible when her determination and adventurous personality kept him constantly curious to see more of her.

Along with the burning desire to own her completely. To make her scream his name a thousand times while he pleasured her senseless.

He’d never been a touchy-feely person. But this woman made him feel things he’d never felt before. Made him want to touch her everywhere, to claim her for his own

Dallas tossed aside his hat and leaned over Mel on the bed, bringing his mouth to crash down over hers in another deep kiss. Only now, with the privacy of his house surrounding them, he could take his time. Get to know her in every way.

She made muffled, aroused sounds as he kissed her lips, stroking deep and focusing on the places that made her body twitch with want in barely visible ways. Then he moved to suck on her earlobe, and she hummed as her hands wandered across the tops of the covers like she didn’t know what to do with them.

Slowly, he kissed down her neck, then up the other side so he could thoroughly love every part of her. Then he wrapped a hand behind the back of her head, loving how her thick curls felt against his fingers as he craned her neck to give him better access there. He could feel her pulse racing, could scent her arousal, which only made him more painfully hard than he’d ever been in his entire life.

Then he laid her back down. He felt her hands on his chest, and an unfamiliar sensation shocked through him, making him pull back for a second.

“Is that bad?” she asked, slight worry on her face.

Dallas took her hands in his and started to kiss each digit, each knuckle, showing her exactly how he still felt about her.

“No. Just… unfamiliar.”

And it was true. He’d never been with a woman like this. He’d stayed away from people his whole life. Dragonclaw had been his home, and the dragons had been his family.

Until now.

For the first time in his life, he was getting thoughts he had no business having. Family of his own. Home. A mate he could make happy and who was by his side for the rest of their lives.

Mel was the only one that could ever make him feel that.

He kissed up her wrists, then gently lowered her hands to his chest where she’d been reaching a moment ago. It took a second to get accustomed to the feeling, her hands as they unbuttoned his shirt, her hands as they touched him with tenderness and want. But he could see her arousal grow as she continued to feel down toward his abs, stroking over each ridge as she pulled up his undershirt to get better access.

Then she went lower, toward his jeans, and he grabbed her wrists
