Trinda could jump. Even for Durin, he had to take a running leap to make it, and in mid air he heard Trinda suck in a breath. Perhaps she had not expected him to do as she asked; Durin wasn't quite sure why he had. When he landed, the stone sank beneath his weight, and he had a sick feeling in his gut.
'Not that one, silly,' Trinda said.
Durin's sick feeling intensified as a low grinding noise filled the halls and the stone beneath their feet trembled.
