else and doesn’t care if she wins or not. Suffers from chronic coffee breath and always wears socks to bed.

Pachi – Vardeen warrior who was shot down by a roving pack of ratkin outside of Taelman’s Pond. Her noble lineage is unknown (for now) and her reasons for fleeing her home shrouded in mystery. Loves fish, squirrels, and, well pretty much any meat but nezumi scum. Like all vardeen, she is as fierce as she is loyal. She also loves shiny things. I mean, who doesn’t.

Zentandra Seven Tails – known by many other names, this enduring queen of the Vardeen has only known a few rivals. Though wise and generous, her tenacity on the battlefield earned the enfield most of her renown. Slayer of Steel Tooth, Champion of the Bottomless Gorge, this awesome matriarch is also, of course, Pachi’s mom.

Madi (Madrigal Serrano Mendoza) – a 17-year-old girl who is prematurely pissed off and disappointed in the world. Her real-life stature can’t match her in-game avatar, but the attitude she exudes so easily is one hundred percent her. Madi has made at least three bullies cry with the sharpness of her tongue alone, and even her own mom fears her tantrums. She loves pazole and pizza, eats her steak with Cholula Hot Sauce, and prefers Taki’s (purple bag) over Flaming Cheetos 7 days a week.

Tejón – the only surviving son of Marduk, this humble stone bear is as ferocious as he is easily swayed by fine meats. Madi knows him as a warrior and as a friend, but she was not there for the last days of his mother’s life. The bear cub was forced to hide away with his sister, avoiding the raving fury of his mother’s illness. Sadly, he was most fortunate for not to being foolish enough to give in to his burning thirst. His sister was too weak and met her end by the same creature that birthed her.

Alysand (Sire Alysand Rowl Deschaney III) – a gentleman type with boots so durable you could cook a stew in them. Once, the gunsinger almost did just that but resorted instead to cinching his belt tighter. From a small town outside of the capital city of Marianor (name of the primary habitable landmass within Eternal Online). Alysand became apprentice to Corbrae Cadogan in his youth and learned far too much about killing. He loves fine dining, good company, and secretly doesn’t mind being called Alice. Madi is, after all, remains the only one stupid enough to tease the aging killer.

Corbrae Cadogan – the master and mentor of Alysand. A gunsinger of another time, Corbrae was the last of a line of bullet bards sworn not to the crown but to Marianor. Corbrae is a welsh word that describes the speed of an animal being hunted… how wicked is that?

Shin Seong (ShinToeBro44) – a Korean American whose uber rich parents can be found posing in all their finery in a dictionary entry under the word grandiloquent. Slayer of dragons and noob-smashing smurf of way too many games, Shin uses the grind of RPG gaming to ignore his own substantial angst. His sister and best friend is Mae. She’s pretty cool too.

Quinn (Sir Quinn Taelman III) – this diminutive man is so old that people often find themselves wincing when they hug him. How hard is too hard, am I right? His eyes do sometimes wander, especially when playing cards, and he has been known to fall asleep mid conversation. Though to be fair, this usually only happens when he helps Dandre “test” the quality of her latest ale. Despite his cuddly old man status, some mystical power seems to exude from Quinn, and anyone with their head on straight suspects he is more than he seems.

Marshall Dandre (Sara Dandre) – a red-headed firecracker who carries precisely thirteen throwing knives on her person at all times. For a woman of the law, she spends much of her time drinking, gambling and loitering about town. An officer of the queen, Dandre has found the first bit of peace and quiet she’s known in her life within the tranquil boundaries of Taelman’s Pond.

Wardeen Sevenhalls – a bit of a stereotypical dwarf in his stature and fiery attitude, but few people know that when the forge is empty, he spends a bit too much time making dainty glass figurines that he melts down from a local source of silica. Stars and other celestial bodies tend to be the subject of these musing studies. He is also one of the deadliest fighters north of the Worgen mountains.

Wardahl Sevenhalls – more like his brother than he would ever admit, this powerful dwarf has a pinch more humility and mirth than the rest of the Sevenhalls. Always one to trade words before blows, Wardahl can talk his way out of a bear trap, and he once drank a full grown mountain troll under the table. His craftsmanship with armor is unsurpassed in Marianor, but it is his work with watercolors that bring him true joy.

Claire and Keiren – twins, yeah, they’re definitely twins. And only a few people in town have the nerve to remain in their company for long. Platman is one of those as she sees within them the indefatigable ambition of true merchants. They love armor but love the coin it makes them even more. Though Claire is relatively normative in her behavior, Keiren has been observed, by a handful of concerned patrons, speaking with various pieces of armor.

Platman (Celia Platman) – a drab looking figure from the outside, sure, but Platman has a shrewd mind and enjoys fleecing lowbie players for every spare coin they have. Barter is her middle name (not really, she doesn’t actually have one), and the very thought of shoplifting makes her wake up at night with cold-sweat cases of the howling fantods. She rocks a beer belly but ironically doesn’t drink. Word has it, she orders three pounds of caramels in her monthly deliveries, yet not a soul
