Нетрудно представить себе, насколько изменилось бы наше отношение к термину «струна», если бы теория струн оказалась фундаментальной, описательной и предсказательной формулировкой физики элементарных частиц. Пока же сила этого термина представляется нам сомнительной, жюри не вынесло по поводу теории струн окончательного вердикта. Иначе обстоит дело с «бифуркацией» и другими терминами теории хаоса.
