Напротив, оно требует длительных усилий, приложенных с доверчивой простотой, и пристального, критического внимания. Раймонд Браун замечательно охарактеризовал процесс чтения Библии:

В конце концов, читая Священное Писание, мы находимся в доме Отца, внутри которого детям позволено играть

(Brown 1955, 28).

Согласно протестантской традиции богословской интерпретации, Церковь постоянно преображается. Одна из сторон этого процесса — перечитывание Писания, поскольку преображение и перечитывание неотделимы друг от друга. Ради благополучия Церкви и успеха ее миссии христиане постоянно размышляют над Писанием… исполненные доверия, критики, послушания и надежды.
