“Ugh.” I blush. “I don’t want to even think about that.” I groan as I cover my face with my hands.
Reed chuckles. “Maybe Keaton should up his game if you don’t even want to think about it afterward.” When he sees my startled look, he continues, laughing hard. “I don’t know if you're aware, but there's this thing on a doorknob called a lock; you should use it sometime.”
“Thanks for the advice.” I let out a small laugh.
The joking mood dissipates as two sets of headlights pull into the driveway. “While I have the chance, I just need to say I hope you stick around this time. No more leaving in the dead of the night,” he says with a hint of warning.
“I don’t plan on leaving, promise.”
He nods before walking over to the car Sage is driving and opens the door for her. “Hey, baby,” he says before giving her a kiss. I turn away, not wanting to interrupt their private moment and walk towards Keaton.
“You okay?” I ask softly.
“Yeah, as well as I can be.” He sighs before rubbing his hands over his face.
“Whatever it is, I’m sure it will work itself out.” I rub his arms in a soothing motion.
“I hope you’re right.” He pulls me in for a tight hug.
“Keaton, time to come in. We need to talk.” Reed turns to me. “Have a good night, Morgan.”
“Night,” I tell him and Sage. I watch them walk into the house before turning back to Keaton. “Looks like it’s time to head out.”
I want him to tell me to stay, to ask me to be a part of this. I know it’s selfish. I haven’t been a part of this family for a long time now, but I want to be. I want to be in there facing shit head on right along with them. I want to ask if Victoria is okay or if I can help in any way, but his next words shatter any of those crazy ideas.
“Yeah, that’s probably a good idea.”
I try to hide my disappointment. “Text me later?”
“Okay.” He leans in and kisses me softly. “I’m sorry our afternoon was ruined.”
“It’s okay. I’m sure there will be more.”
He takes a step back and opens my car door. “Text me when you get home.”
“Okay, night.” I slide into my car.
“Night,” he says before shutting my door.
Once at the end of his drive, I look in my rearview mirror and notice that he’s still standing where I left him.
Keaton Yates is something else.

I expected not to really talk to Keaton the night he and Sage went and got Victoria. What I didn’t expect was for him to go radio silent. Okay, he hasn’t really been silent, but there has been next to zero communication. If it weren’t for Tinsley responding to my text, I wouldn’t know that they were spending Christmas and New Year’s with Sage and Victoria’s family out of state.
My phone buzzes for the third time in the corner, and I make no move to look at it. Instead, I shift into another yoga pose, breathing in through my nose and out through my mouth.
“If you could hold that position while naked, we could have some fun,” a teasing voice says from the doorway.
I move from downward dog into the cobra pose, concentrating on my breathing, not bothering to respond to Keaton.
“Ignoring me now, huh?” He walks into my home gym and shuts the door softly behind him.
“Is it really ignoring you when you’re the one who stopped talking to me first?”
He sighs. “Okay, I probably deserve that. But in my defense, a lot of shits been going on.”
“I wouldn’t know.” I shrug and give up on yoga as I turn to face him. “In order to know that, you would have to send a text or maybe call.”
“I probably could have texted you a little more,” he agrees, “but I don’t understand why you're so mad.”
“You don’t understand why I’m so mad?” I fume. “Imagine if you were me, and we just had sex for the first time. Then some beautiful guy comes busting into my room, one who you’re extremely close to. Then I leave you in my bed and go with him to another gorgeous guy to ‘save’ him.” I finger quote. “Then, when I get back, I send you on your way. The next day, I leave for two fucking weeks without even hinting at the fact I was going anywhere to begin with. And you wouldn’t be mad?”
“First off, that would never happen. Second, are you seriously jealous right now?”
I scoff.
“Sage and V are like my sisters! Do you seriously think I would do anything with either of them after I was between your legs?” he demands.
“How am I supposed to know! It’s not like I’m your girlfriend!” I yell back.
“Like hell you're not,” he says, freakishly calm as he stalks towards me.
“You never asked,” I remind him.
“It should have been a given when I sucked on your clit. You sure as hell should have known when I made you come all over my cock and you screamed my name,” he rasps out before slamming his mouth onto mine in a brutal kiss.
I break off while yanking his shirt up, “I’m still mad at you,” I hiss.
“That’s okay. I’ll fuck the mad right out of you.”
His mouth meets mine in an aggressive kiss. The bite of his fingers on my skin is a promise of bruises, but I don’t care. The slight pinch of pain only turns me on more. Keaton guides me until my back is pressed against the wall, his mouth never leaving mine.
I bite down on his lower lip, causing him to moan.
“You want it rough, baby? I can do rough.”
Keaton pulls my leggings and underwear down to my ankles before he steps between my legs. He pulls his cock out in the next moment, sheathing it in a condom as he sucks on my neck. I’m
