His face lights up at the mention of her name. Nixie is twenty years old now and the world’s best babysitter. She’s going to a university in Dallas, but is home for the summer and living with her friend in town. I still miss having her around, but I love watching her grow up into the smart capable woman that I always knew she would.
She’s made us so proud. Especially Jaxon and Beckham. Their faces still light up whenever she walks into the room.
The doorbell rings and Matthew takes off like a little lightning bolt, running down the hall as he squeals.
“This dress is torture,” Jaxon says once we’re alone again. He puts his palm on my knee and starts sliding his hand up my thigh, wanting to get to the dessert before we even have dinner.
“Hold that thought,” I say as I grab his wrist and hold it. “You know me. I never put out before a date.”
“The perils of dating a good girl.”
I lean over him, letting my hair fall into his face as I hover my lips over his. “And don’t you forget it, bad boy.”
Jaxon is groaning and adjusting the huge rod in his pants as we head downstairs. Our four kids are already climbing all over Nixie, but she doesn’t seem to mind.
“Hey, Stella!” she says as Amber jumps on her head. “Hey, Uncle J.”
“Amber, be careful!”
“It’s okay,” Nixie says with a laugh. She rolls Amber onto the floor and starts tickling her until my six-year-old is laughing so hard I’m worried she’s going to pee all over our new carpet.
“Are you going to be okay with these monsters?” Jaxon asks as he pulls his leather cut off the chair and slips it on.
I can’t help but check him out in it. It’s always such a turn on knowing I’m under the wing of the baddest man in town.
“She’ll be fine,” I say as I grab his arm and start pulling him to the door. “If she has any trouble, she can call her new boyfriend.”
Nixie’s cheeks go red as she stares at me with wide eyes.
“What?!” Jaxon shouts. “Boyfriend? What boyfriend?!”
I pull him with all my might, but all that happens is my feet slide back to him. It’s like trying to move a skyscraper.
“It’s just this guy,” Nixie says, looking embarrassed. “We’ve been seeing each other.”
“How come I’m just finding out about it now?”
“Because I know you’d freak out.”
Jaxon looks incensed. “I’m not freaking out!”
Nixie looks at me for help and I nod. “You’re freaking out.”
“I’m totally cool with this,” he says as he straightens his cut and smoothes back his hair. “What’s his name? Where does he live? Does he have a criminal record?”
Nixie sighs. “Carter. Not telling. I don’t think so.”
Jaxon grunts. It’s clear that he doesn’t like this.
My heart goes out to the poor girl. It’s not easy having such a protective and territorial man for an uncle. Believe me, I know. I have one for a husband.
It may not be easy, but it sure is fun.
“Come on,” I say as I try to pull him again. This time he lets me. “We have reservations in half an hour.”
“All right,” he says as he gives Nixie a hard stare. “I want to meet this guy. I’m worried about this.”
“Worry about showing your pretty wife a good time on your date night. She deserves it.”
Jaxon’s eyes turn to me and I get a warm little shiver. “She certainly does,” he says with a growl. “And I’m going to show her the night of her life.”
I let out a scream as he scoops me up in his big arms and carries me out of the house.
“Car or bike?”
Does he even have to ask?
“Bike.”
He grins. “That’s my girl.”
A few minutes later, I’m on the back of his motorcycle, clinging to his big powerful frame. I can feel the engine vibrating between my legs as my fingertips dig into my husband’s hard sculpted abs.
I don’t know how I got so lucky with this guy, but I did.
I love riding with him. I love everything about him.
The past ten years have been amazing.
He revs the engine and we fly down the road with the warm breeze in our hair, feeling total freedom.
The next ten years will be even better…
As long as he keeps this bike.
Epilogue
Jaxon
Twenty-five years later…
I spot some grey in my Old Lady’s hair when she bends over in the sun and I don’t know why, but it turns me on like someone has flipped a switch inside me.
She giggles as I slide my arms around her and pull her up against my body. I’m still as big and strong as I was in my youth. I might have some grey in my beard now, but I’m still the tough alpha male Stella married.
“What has gotten into you?” she asks with a grin as I start kissing her neck. “We’re in the driveway. We have neighbors, you know?”
“Your hair,” I growl as I press my throbbing hard on against her. “I like it.”
“Oh, God,” she says as she tries to push me away. I’m not going anywhere. “I’m getting it dyed tomorrow. It’s horrible.”
“It’s sexy.”
“My roots are showing! Stop looking!”
“I’ll never stop looking at my girl,” I say as I kiss her hard on the mouth. She stops fighting me and turns to jelly against my body. This girl belongs in my arms.
“Stop,” she says in a moan. “The grandkids will be here any minute.”
My hands tighten on her curves. “Then we better make it fast.”
She’s giving me that stern look, but I know the longer I press my hard cock against her, the quicker that stern look dissolves into moans.
“You got thirty seconds,” she says as she glances at the road.
I pick her up and bring her into the garage as she starts rubbing her little hand along my broad shoulders. She hits the button as we pass it
