make a quick little detour on the way back to her room.”

“He’ll kill you if he finds out.”

“Key word, if he finds out,” Tiny said, pulling a set of keys from his pocket.

He unlocked the door to the room and stepped into the darkness. The only light being given was from the moon shining through the one window that was in the room. Gil followed close behind him, and the two men went toward where Tiara was sleeping soundly in her bed. The covers were completely over her face like she was trying to hide.

“No point in trying to hide, Tiara,” Tiny taunted. “It’s playtime!”

He grabbed the cover and threw it back, and instantly, his eyes grew wide. There was nothing there but some pillows positioned like a body.

“What the fuck?” he said out loud.

“Where the fuck is she?” Gil asked as he looked around the room.

“Now!” the men heard a voice call out.

They started to turn around, but before they could, they both felt something cold and hard plunge in their necks. Blood spewed out everywhere as Tiara and Elaya repeatedly jabbed the shanks in and out of the guards’ necks. The guards dropped to the ground, clutching their necks in hopes of being able to stop the gushes of blood from spilling out of them.

“G-get the keys, Lay!” Tiara whispered in a hurry.

“OK!” Elaya went to Tiny and pulled the keys from his hand and also the handgun from his waist. She did the same thing to Gil and handed a gun to Tiara.

Both girls were fully dressed in T-shirts and jeans with their backpacks on their backs.

“Come on, I know where he is. If he was expecting me, then there is only one place that he would be.”

Tiara led the way to Doctor Pierce’s office. The hallways were silent and empty, but still, the girls walked with precaution. The last thing they needed was to get caught before they even made it halfway out of the facility. They rounded a few more corners until finally, they reached their destination.

“His office?” Elaya asked peering down the hall at the office door that was slightly ajar.

“Yup.” Tiara turned her nose up. She held her gun up and checked the clip like her father had taught her to do what seemed like so long ago. “Check the clip and make sure your safety is off.”

“Girl, I don’t know how to use these things. I have no idea what the hell you’re talking about!” Elaya whispered frantically.

Tiara stopped and showed Elaya how to do it really quick before the two of them continued to ease their way down the hallway with their guns raised. When they got to the door, Tiara used her gun to push it open. She expected to see Doctor Pierce sitting at his desk waiting for her like he always was, but she was sadly mistaken. Instead, he had something up his sleeve for both of them. The moment that Tiara’s outstretched arm entered the room, a hand grabbed her wrist and yanked her entire body all of the way into the room. She was spun around to face Elaya who was still in the hallway pointing her gun directly ahead.

Doctor Pierce used Tiara’s own hand to aim the gun at her head and placed his free arm around her neck, squeezing tightly. He threw a wicked grin at Elaya and was openly delighted by the look of shock on her face.

“Did you two really think you would be able to sneak up on me and kill me? Me? You must have forgot that I have cameras in every hallway. I’ve been watching you since you left your room. Go on now, Elaya. Put the gun down, and I promise your punishment won’t be as cruel as Tiara’s.”

“No! Elaya! Don’t listen to him. If he kills me, so be it. You can still be free. Somebody needs to know about what goes on here!”

Elaya began to cry because the last thing she wanted to do was leave her friend behind. She shook her head.

“I’m not leaving you!”

Doctor Pierce jerked Tiara by the neck, causing her to choke and gasp for air.

“If you don’t put the gun down in five seconds, it will be your fault that Tiara is dead. I’m going to put a bullet neatly in her temple; then you are going to take her place in my appointment book.”

“I-it’s fear, Elaya. It’s just fear. Kill—”

“Five!” Doctor Pierce started counting as he cocked the pistol. “Four!”

“Tiara!”

“Kill him!”

“I don’t have a shot!”

“Three! I am going to kill this bitch, Elaya! Put the fucking gun down, you worthless whore! Two!”

His words made Elaya’s eyes flash hot. She aimed her gun just as he got to number “one” and took her shot.

Bot!

The gun in her hand went off and caught Doctor Pierce in the shoulder.

“Agh!” he grunted as he flew back, unwillingly letting Tiara go.

Tiara kneeled over and gasped for air. After taking a few deep breaths, she jumped forward toward Elaya. She snatched the gun from her and turned back to face Doctor Pierce who lay bleeding on the carpet in his spacious office. Walking back to him, she kicked his gun as far away from him as she could.

“You fucking piece of shit!” Tiara spewed her hate at him. “You took so much from me!” Tiara cried. “You stole from every girl in here!”

“Nobody wanted you,” he said, clutching his left shoulder with his right hand. “You are all just throwaways.”

“I wanted me! You were supposed to help me! You were supposed to help all of us! Now look at what the fuck you did!”

“Fuck you! I would do it all over again,” he said and then licked his lips at her. “You will always be my favorite.” He looked up at Tiara with a smug grin on his face.

Tiara wanted to wipe the look of glee from his face forever, and so she did. Her finger clicked on the trigger, and she released every bullet in
