his way back into her arms. His lips glistened like diamonds and she was drawn to his mouth where she kissed her juices from his lips. Dang, this felt too good. His lean body pressed against hers, his erection against her womanhood, the light in his eyes, had her wishing they would have more time together. More time like this. Without interruptions, without New York…without Lucy.

“Logan, what about Lucy?” It just spilled from her mouth. How could she have forgotten such a thing? And why had she remembered at a time like this? She was a moron to even think he would want more than Japan with her. He had a life in Colorado…someone he was seeing.

“Hey, hey. I can already see the wheels turning. Settle down.” His tone was placating. “I'm not seeing her anymore. I stopped.”

He didn't elaborate and she didn't want to ask. This moment was too good.

“What about you and Brody?”

She laughed but this time she no longer felt the need to stick up for him and there was no point correcting Logan. Instead, she answered honestly. “He never returned any of my calls. I’m done.”

“So, where does this leave us?”

She wanted to tell him that it left them at the beginning. But with him moving to Manhattan, she swallowed down those words and told him the truth. One she was already not wanting to see the end of. “It leaves us with Japan.”

Chapter Twenty-Three

The cherry blossom trees were much more than she had expected. There were endless cascades of pink and white petals that filled hundreds of trees. It took her breath away. Gazing at the blossoms gave her the surreal feeling of watching falling snow, much like at home.

After last night, it was impossible to ignore the sexual tension between her and Logan, still emanating from the surface like a volcano ready to burst. Every touch, every glance, she felt the waves of desire pouring out of him. Walking along the rows of trees, it never occurred to her last night that she had been the only one pleasured. But now, seeing his beautiful face in the day light and the heavy gazes he threw her way, she couldn’t seem to ignore it.

“Come on.” He tugged her arm to a nearby tree and sat down in the grass, pulling her with him.

“Aren't you supposed to…well, be satisfied too? Like how I was last night?” She couldn't possibly look him in the eye while awaiting his answer. Her gaze traveled up along the trees, losing herself in the layers of blossoms as she pretended he wasn’t looking at her.

“Last night was all about you, Gabriella. It's always going to be all about you,” he teased. “We have all night tonight and I fully intend to introduce you to the concept of how to please your partner and at the same time please yourself.”

Even wearing her windbreaker, she shivered at his words. She had no doubt whatsoever he would, and could, come through on that promise.

She finally met his gaze. Her breathing hitched as his hands trailed heat marks along her wrists and his eyes set her soul aflame. She ignored the burgeoning question in her heart of how she was going to possibly give this up when it was only just beginning.

Logan had yet to submit his offer to buy into REEVES to his father. He couldn’t even guess what his father was going to think. However, this was the only way he would feel comfortable taking over the firm. It was the plausible thing to do in order for him to eliminate this trust-fund-baby feeling of his. He obviously didn't have the worth of REEVES to pay his father outright, but with the plan he’d concocted the past few nights he’d slept, he was pretty sure it would be a feasible solution for him to purchase the company.

He just wanted to get this dinner over with tonight. He had plans and none of them entailed visiting with Hiroshi all night. He had his semi-virginal lover to attend to. He was confident tonight would be the night she would experience a whole new way of life and he was fucking thrilled she’d chosen him to share it with.

“Okay, turn right here.”

He watched Gabbie marvel at the brown slats covering the lower portion of the famous orange building in the Gion District. He knew at any moment she would guess what the surprise was. It wasn't a guarantee they would even see a Geisha, let alone more than one, but they couldn't travel all the way to Kyoto and not try. Rumor was they would come out of the small row houses at dusk—In time to head to their hired positions for the evenings, where they would be the entertainers for an exclusive, wealthy group of men. They would be dressed in full gear—their kimonos, their faces all done up with the pasty white make-up as well as the special way they fixed their hair.

“This is Ichiriki Ochaya, isn't it?” She asked in awe, trailing her hand along the wooden slats.

He nodded.

She stopped walking and threw her arms around his neck, energy emanated from her body. “The Geisha’s, right? Logan this is the best surprise ever!”

He lifted her off her feet and hugged her tightly. “Only the best for you.”

She let out a squeal. “When do they come out? Come on, let's hurry!”

Dinner with Hiroshi and his family had been good, but fuck if Logan wasn’t glad to be back inside their hotel room. All he’d thought about for the entire day was Gabbie—Gabbie underneath him, Gabbie above him…Gabbie with her legs spread out like she was the night before. He barely gave her the chance to set her purse on the small circular table before he pounced on her. She kissed him just as fervently, as if she too hadn’t been able to think of anything else. Before he knew it, she was pulling his shirt from out of his
