“I’ll ask Olga about it in the morning,” I hazily say as sleepiness begins to creep its way in.

Helga
I sharply wake up from a dead sleep. The mating has been complete. The two souls are now bonded as one. A smile creeps up on me as I lay back down with satisfaction that these two beings are now home. They’ll never suffer like their parents did.
I foresee many years of blissful happiness for the two of them. Closing my eyes, I allow sleep to claim me once again.
Olga
“Oh my,” I gasp as my body jolts from its sleeping form. You can feel the magnitude of Lux and Shelbi’s joining. It’s an explosion of lights. You can feel the peace and love in the air. I giggle like a teenage girl when the rainbowed aura flows throughout the house.
The fates have blessed their union. The future plays out in my head and joyous feelings wrap around my entire being with what I’m seeing. Closing my eyes, I dream of baby cubs frolicking in the woods behind my house and their parents chasing them… all four of them bubbling with laughter.
I wake back up from slumber when my bedroom door creaks open. “Olga, are you awake?” Shelbi whispers into my dark room.
“Yes, child. Come in and see me,” I tell her patting the bed beside me. Scooting over some, she sits down next to me. I place my hand over hers and am happy to feel the dark void in her soul she’s always harbored filled with color.
“I have an… um, I have a question to ask you, Olga,” she stammers out.
“Well, what is it, child? You never know the answer if you never ask the question,” I tease.
“Well, God, this is embarrassing,” she states as she places her hands over her face.
“You never have to feel that way with me, Shelbi. Tell me what it is so I can help you.”
“Last night, after… you know. Anyways, there were blasts of a multitude of colors surrounding our forms. I-is that normal?” I smile at her question.
“It was the ancestors blessing your union. You know the two of you are unique in all ways. The way you were born, the way you both grew up, you two are special, Shelbi. And the fact that you are now blessed, you will always have one another and be happy together.”
“Thank you, Olga!” she shouts, leaning forward and wrapping her arms around me.
“You’re so very welcome,” I respond as I pat her back.
“Lux wants us to take a road trip before we head back to the Dark Leopards compound. We’ll be leaving today.”
“Well, then, we better get the two of you fed.” I jump up and grab my robe. “Go grab your man, Shelbi, we need to fill your bellies before you two hit the road.”
Epilogue
Lux
Saying goodbye to the sisters was harder than Shelbi and I anticipated it would be. But as they stood on the porch, waving us away, it felt right. Everything at the clubhouse is good, I’m not needed any time soon. My men have the businesses covered and there’s been no drama that needs my immediate attention. I can take the next month and explore the road with my woman nestled at my backside. We may not have had the traditional mating that shifters experience, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. We didn’t start off on a good note, but we are forever going to have our own melodic tune to dance to.
It’ll be a good story to share with our future children and grandchildren. I have no fears of suffering through fertility issues like our parents did. Helga explained to me that a touch of magic went into making us so that we wouldn’t suffer the same fate. We may always be watching our backs if we’re discovered, but at least we have an arsenal covering us.
That’s what brotherhood is all about. We may not be bonded by blood ties, but we are all spiritually connected. A band of brothers having each other's backs through all walks of life.
My future's so bright, that it settles the beast inside of me. He no longer claws to be released, he’s content and full of life. He still harasses me, but now, I don’t get upset by it, I just give it back.
Life is fucking phenomenal.
Shelbi
I never imagined riding on the back of Lux’s bike would be so enthralling. I’m nervous about meeting his brothers, but I know he’ll be next to me, helping me pave my way. I’m not sure where I am in the hierarchy of things but I’m willing to learn and will strive each and every day to make Lux proud.
It’s a learning curve, one I’m determined to step into and figure out. I’d like to say that it will be instinctual, but that’s a life that’s foreign to me. He’s explained that there are some things I’ll never be part of. Especially when it pertains to ‘club business’. I vehemently tried to argue that women could be just as important to the club as the men are. He argued back that it was for my safety and the kids’ safety that I am ignorant to anything that could be used against him. When he explained it in detail, I understood where he and the men were coming from. Makes sense that I can’t be used against him. I’d personally hate to be put in that position, because I’d never betray my mate. They’d have to dress me in orange and place me behind bars before that’d ever happen.
Once we were on the same page, we pulled up to a secluded park that had a waterfall. He took me into the cavern behind it and we ‘made up’ from our argument. And boy, I learned that makeup sex is the best kind there
