If my assumptions are correct, he won’t be able to not keep her in his line of sight. He’ll have to be around her to calm the raging beast inside of himself. Blaze and I didn’t even make it a weekend before we had to be in each other’s presence. Our families got together and had a quick little claiming ceremony before the clan one. Our bond was sealed before we’d even left each other at the festival. We didn’t sink our teeth into one another, nor have any sort of sexual encounter for our bond to seal. We were just around one another, chemistry sparked between us, but we respected our families and the customs enough not to tarnish them.
Looks as if another couple will be having their own soon. In a year or so from now; I hope Angela is ready for the big extended family she’ll gain in all of us.
Epilogue
Blaze
It’s been six months since we rescued everyone from the warehouse. Echo has taken his place in the MC. He bypassed his prospect period due to his years of service in the military and because of his treatment, survival, and assistance, in rescuing the others from the ordeal they all went through. Turns out, the way they managed to nab him was that he’d had a flat tire and had pulled off to the side and was sitting in wait for help on the shoulder of the road. A tow truck showed up to assist him, he turned his back and they tranquilized him while he was looking his bike over, taking in the damage that needed to be repaired from the blown tire.
We’ve never been able to establish why they began taking shifters along with the humans, but Jake has been relentlessly and tirelessly questioning and interrogating those motherfuckers, Anston Greyhorse, Jason Glemson and Markus Carmichael. None have talked so far, but it’s only a matter of time. Pops is being prepared to go in and ask pertinent questions to his once good buddy, Anston. Jake thinks that Anston would be more inclined to speak with Pops than anyone else.
The elders were a hard sell on the capture of our most valuable shifters; but in the end relented when they were shown all of the evidence that had been gathered and the case that had been built against them. Now, they’re in a defense mode of sorts, trying to keep the council in high regards with shifters everywhere. They are a group of shifters who were voted in to protect our kind, and when it was announced that one had betrayed their oath of protection… well, let’s just say all hell broke loose. There was a frenzy that required enforcers from all branches to take off and help protect the members of the council. Their safety was in imminent, life-threatening danger; which is understandable, but also punishable by death. The only reason we agreed to send one of our own was so that an angry shifter didn’t pay the ultimate penalty with his or her life. Whereas the anger is understandable, we’d have had to help in putting a shifter down, and none of us were onboard or comfortable with that nefarious idea. Especially seeing as each and every one of us could understand where their anger was coming from.
As I sit in the main room of the clubhouse, I’m surrounded by my brothers and their stories of combat and life events. A bunch of them have been over exaggerated; I know this because I was there for some of them. But this is what men do when they get together, see who’s had a more adventurous life.
“Blaze,” I hear my sweet mate call out my name. I’m instantly on my feet, my woman is five months pregnant with my twins. It’s not uncommon for shifters to breed more than one cub at a time. We have everything super on our side; including our sperm count and egg fertilization. We do everything extra to that of our human counterparts. Our cats will always dominate our human sides, and I couldn’t be any happier of a man than I am in this instance and point in our life.
“I thought you were supposed to be resting, Glory,” I admonish her, but do so with a smile on my face. Happiness to lay eyes on her is overriding my need to make her do as our doctor ordered.
“I got bored. There’s only so many hours in one day I can lay in that bed with my only companions being the television and my e-reader. I can just as easily rest in here with you.” She bats her eyelashes at me, something she does when she’s eager to get her way. It gets me every single damn time. I can’t seem to resist giving her all that her heart desires. “Can’t I just stay in here, Blaze?” Now, she’s pulling out those sad kitty cat eyes.
“Of course, you can, as long as you actually sit and prop your feet up,” I respond as her eyes light up with my acquiescence. I help her sit down and wrap my arms around her, placing my hands over her protruding belly. “Just be happy you are carrying my cubs, mate. Otherwise, I’d be putting you across my knees and spanking your bare ass for not following doctor's orders.”
“Why do you insist on teasing me so, Blaze?” She pretends to sniffle, but she can’t fool me with that smirk that’s curling up her
