at?

Fuck. Slash asks me through our mind. Our club is linked together by reading each other’s thoughts. My beast stirs inside of me eager to answer him or take Dana back to her house.

I’m busy. What’s goin’ on?

We got trouble at the club. You might wanna get your fuckin’ ass over here.

I’m gonna kick your ass. Can’t you take care of it?

The mayor’s here. Wants to talk to the prez.

Fuck! Take care of it and fill me in later.

“No,” Dana answers innocently. “What are you getting, Braydon?”

I love the way she talks to son. So many of these damn hoes around here only talk to him to get to me and I hate it. These fuckin’ whores think if they are fake nice to son, I would wife them up.

“Chicken tenders. I like the ranch,” he answers her.

Our food is here in no time, I’m thinking Sheila is trying to rush Dana out of here.

Dana pushes her long hair over her shoulder to eat her salad without it getting in the way. The smell of her hair hits my senses quicker than I would like to admit.

What the fuck?

Damn, he smells good.

I hear her thoughts and try not to chuckle at her thought. I’m thinking this might go a lot easier than I originally thought.

I might be able to get her in my bed sooner rather than later.

This is fuckin’ awesome.

“Braydon, what are you and your dad doing for the rest of the night?” She asks.

Braydon’s eyes light up. I can see he really likes his teacher. The thoughts of fuckin’ Ms. Burns against her desk make me feel a little like an asshole. Just a little, though. I have every intention on knowing what she tastes like.

“We usually go to the clubhouse and hang out with my uncles. It’s really fun! You should come sometime!”

Dana’s mind is sending all sorts of messages my way. I can tell she really cares for my son, but she’s wanting me, too.

This is fuckin’ cool.

“Dana!”

Dana’s head snaps up and looks at the mayor himself. What the fuck is happening?

That’s when it clicks. Her last name is Burns and so is his. This really is a small fuckin’ town.

“Dad, what are you doing here?”

He smiles at Braydon but then his eyes lock onto mine. “I’m going to tell you this once. Stay away from my daughter. Do I make myself clear? Stay away from her. She doesn’t need to be anywhere near you and your club.”

His threat makes me want to chuckle and then punch him in the face. “Did you come looking for me?” I question and down the rest of my water. I’m reaching into my back pocket to grab my money. Fishing out two twenties, I drop them on the table.

“I came looking for you. You and I need to have a conversation.”

Dana’s head is snapping back and forth like she’s trying to figure out what is going on. I’m not going to be the one to tell her that my club has been trying to stop him and the other motorcycle club from bringing in underaged girls from Michigan to Canada. No way in hell am I going to tell her that it’s because of him, girls are never going to bounce back again.

Dana doesn’t need to hear it from me.

“Dad,” Dana warns.

Mr. Burns’ eyes lift from mine to his daughter. “Is this all you had to eat here?”

“Yes,” she answers.

“Get your purse. You’re leaving.”

“Are you serious?”

This is so embarrassing! Has he been following me?

I want to smile. My girl has an attitude.

“You know what? I have to take my son home. I’ll see you around, Dana,” I say calmly while gently pushing her out of the booth. Once she’s standing, I wrap an arm around her waist to further piss her dad off. “I will definitely be seein’ you,” I murmur close to her ear.

She smiles and nods her head.

Braydon, who is now standing in front of Dana, smiles at her. “I’ll see you at school tomorrow!”

“Sure thing!” She murmurs.

I’m pulling Braydon out of the restaurant before things get bad. It is no secret that Mr. Burns hates the motorcycle club. He’s always talking mad shit about us to whomever would listen to him. He’s just pissed because of our side hustle.

“Sorry, dude,” I tell Braydon.

“I think she likes you!”

I chuckle deep in my throat. I know she likes me but I’m not going to fill in the little man on the secret just yet. “I think you might be right. Let’s go back to the clubhouse!”

Slash is waiting for us outside of the clubhouse by the time we get there. He’s smiling at Braydon who’s running towards him the second I stop the bike.

“My dad likes my teacher!”

Slash smirks. “Yeah, yeah. My kid is in there. Go say hi and get a snack.”

I swing my leg over my bike. “What did the mayor of fuck nuts want?”

“He talked to DoLittle.”

I walk off to the side of our house to shift. I hate being in my human form this long. My bones and body need to stretch. Slash must have felt the same way because he’s shifting along with me. “Ha! He got the Canadian. That’s classic. What did they talk about?”

“I’m starvin’!” He grumbles to me.

We take off into the woods near Iron Mountain to hunt. There are a lot of different animals out there for us to feed on. My favorite is the moose. The sun hits my white fur of my snow leopard and I want to roll around in the light. I needed to feel free like this.

Mainly because I need to work off the frustrations regarding Dana. I want her and she wants me. What the fuck was up with that meeting with her dad?

My teeth sink into the deer in front of me and I eagerly go to work on it. I try not to over hunt, but sometimes you need to eat good. As I tear into the meat, I begin to
