His heart started beating again. Damned if he’d realized it had stopped, but now that Meg was here, back . . . “For how long?” he asked.
“Forever if you’ll have me. I want everything you said. You, me, this baby. I want to be a family, and I want you.” She stepped forward, and he was there, pulling her into his arms and sealing his lips hard on hers.
Relief poured through Meg as he kissed her thoroughly, as if he’d never let her go. The entire drive over, she’d been afraid he’d changed his mind, that she’d pushed him to his limit, that he’d turn her away.
She threaded her fingers through his hair and kissed him back with everything she had. When they broke for air, she met his inky gaze. “I’m sorry.”
He shook his head. “Don’t apologize for what you needed, baby. You’re here now, and we both know it’s because you thought things through and you want to be.”
“I do. I really do.”
The sexy grin edging his lips was one she could look at all day and never get enough. “Okay then, but know this.”
“Hmm?”
“I’m not letting you go. Ever.” He lifted her into his arms, and she held on tight as he walked into the house and slammed the door closed behind them.

The events of Wicked & Devoted kick off shortly BEFORE the events of Falling in Deeper (Wicked Lovers, book 11) and will carry through the same timeframes as Holding on Tighter (Wicked Lovers, book 12), then continue on through Devoted to Pleasure (Devoted Lovers, book 1), Devoted to Wicked (Devoted Lovers, book 1.5), and Devoted to Love (Devoted Lovers, book 2)—and beyond. This means, for instance, that while it’s been years (in real-world time) since I created the stories of some of your favorite characters, only some months have passed in their world. But I promise you, there’s a reason for this. Things are about to get mighty interesting…
