“Awesome, huh?”
I nod, and Chance leans in, kissing me on the lips. He lowers me to the ground, grabs my hand, and leads me to his parents. I step back to let him greet his parents. While he’s talking to his dad, I can totally see the similarities between them.
“He’s so much like his dad it’s scary.” Aubrey smiles as she looks at her husband and son. “Chance is always on the move, and since the moment CJ could crawl he’s been going and going.”
Chance comes over, grabbing my hand. He leads me over to his bike and places my helmet on my head. After he climbs on, I do the same behind him. Without hesitating I wrap my arms around his waist, rest my cheek on his back, and smile as he takes off.
After lunch we head back to Chance’s apartment. Once inside, I kick off my shoes and get comfy on his sofa. He grabs a soda for both of us and comes to sit next to me.
He pulls up Netflix, and we decide to watch Parks and Recreation. I laugh loudly when Ron Swanson gets back together with his ex-wife Tammy, and. I’m sure it’s not attractive, but he is hilarious when they back out through the bars of a jail cell, and I can’t help myself. Chance does the same while playing with the ends of my hair
I turn to ask him who his favorite character is, and he’s looking at me. “What?”
Chance leans in and kisses me. Our kiss becomes heated as he deepens it. He opens my mouth with his, and I moan as his tongue brushes mine. Chance pulls back just a little, licking and nipping at my lips. “Your lips are prime for kissing, licking, and biting.” Chance deepens the kiss again and then pulls me onto his lap.
I lower myself and feel his hard cock. I’m inexperienced in that department, but he feels really big. I moan into his mouth as he thrusts up against me. His hands slide under my t-shirt, gently caressing my back as he unhooks my bra. His hands come around my side, and I moan as he cups my breasts.
This is the furthest we’ve gone until now. His hands are magical, and I moan as he plucks my nipples.
“Fuck, you’re so responsive. I can’t wait until I get to eat your pussy. I bet you taste as sweet as your lips,” he whispers against my mouth.
My core clenches at his naughtiness.
My cell phone rings, but I ignore it. It finally stops, and I brush my tongue against his lips. Chance pinches my nipples, and I cry out against his lips. The phone rings again, and I pull away from Chance. “I-I should probably check to see who it is.”
“Of course.” Being a gentleman he helps me off of his lap.
I scramble over to my phone and see it’s my mom. I quickly answer. “Hey, everything okay?” That’s when I hear Ava screaming in the background. I quickly step into his bathroom and shut the door. “Mom, what’s going on?”
“Th-the latch to the pool didn’t w-work. She fell in the pool. I was right there and d-didn’t hear the sp-splash. I swear as soon as I found her I got her out. I’m so sorry, baby.” Her cries hurt my heart.
“M-mom it was accident. She’s obviously okay. I’ll be there as soon as I can.” I disconnect the call and take a deep breath. I need to see my daughter, to hold her little body in my arms.
The minute I open the door Chance is right in front of me.
Chapter Nine
Chance
I know I shouldn’t be listening at the door, but I could hear crying on the other end as Laken answered. I don’t know who she is, maybe her sister? Although I thought she only had a brother.
Laken says something about an accident and that she’s going home. I move away from the door and kick myself for listening at all. The door opens, and she comes rushing out. “Can you take me back to my apartment? I have to get home.”
I can see her hands shake as she tries to get her shoes on. “Here, let me help you.” I put both of her shoes on and tie them. “Let me drive you home. I won’t stay, but I don’t think you should drive. I’ll even come get you when you’re ready.”
“That’s not a good idea, Chance. Please just take me home.”
I help her up and put on my shoes. We head out to my bike and climb on. I can feel it in her body language that she’s upset. Once we pull up in front of her apartment, she hops off. “Bye, Chance.” I watch her run toward the front door. She turns back to face me after pulling the door open. Laken’s mouth opens and closes like she wants to say something; instead, her smile looks sad, and then she’s gone.
I head back to my place and have an uneasy feeling in my gut. This is why I don’t do relationships. She’s got me all confused, and I know it’s not her fault, but by keeping things simple I don’t ever have to worry about this shit.
I grab my phone and text her.
Chance: Text me when you get home so I know you got there safe.
I watch for the black dots to begin bouncing, but it’s a good twenty minutes before she responds.
Laken: I will. Chance, I think we need to break things off. There are things about me that I haven’t told you. I’ll remember every second that we spent together.
What the fuck? What hasn’t she told me?
Chance: You can tell me anything. It won’t change how I feel about you.
I am beginning to care a lot about her, and I think she feels the same way about me.
I send Trey a quick text.
Chance: You busy?
