<From AWACS. Attention. Hostile bug fighters are approaching. There are two groups. The westerly group is 20 miles from the bullseye, approximately 130 miles from the F22s. They are slightly west of the bullseye, moving south toward the F22s at an altitude of 2,500 feet. The easterly group is 20 miles from the bullseye, approximately 130 miles from the F22s. They are slightly east of the bullseye, moving south toward the F22s at an altitude of 3,000 feet and climbing in altitude fast (speed in excess of Mach 1).>
CHAMP, Bugblast One: “Roger Wacker. Bugblast team, we are hot, fence in.”
<Champ acknowledges he has received the information. He then directs the F22 team to be ready for action and to set cockpit switches to combat mode.>
WACKER <AWACS command>: “New picture. Flies are stacked, three groups. Low group, bullseye, 180, 30, 2,500 feet. 15 flies. Medium group 15,000 feet. 15 flies. High group, very high, 45,000 feet. 10 flies. Action. Commit Stalkers, pitbull in five seconds.”
<From AWACS. The tactical situation has changed. The enemy fighters have formed up into three groups, all at roughly the same distance from the bullseye. The three groups are on a heading toward the F22s, but at different altitudes. The three groups have been designated Low, Medium and High. Low group: there are 15 enemy fighter aircraft at an altitude of 2,500 feet. Medium group: 15 enemy fighters at an altitude of 15,000 feet. High group: 10 enemy fighters at an altitude of 45,000 feet. A general directive has been given to the F22 group to commit the Stalker drones to action. The Stalkers will be in range to fire AIM 120D missiles in 5 seconds.>
CHAMP, Bugblast One: “Roger Wacker. Radar tally. Bugblast, sort. Paint and Knuckles, Low. Plaster and Rave, Medium.”
<Champ acknowledges he has received the information and directive. He confirms that he can now “see” the enemy fighters on his radar. As Bugblast lead, he assigns responsibility of attack to his team. Champ will take the enemy group that is high. He assigns the low flying group to Paint and Knuckles. He assigns the medium level group to Plaster and Rave. They will initiate the attack using missiles from the Stalker drones. Note, there is a preplanned battle strategy that will be used throughout the operation when possible.>
PAINT, Bugblast Four: “Flies at 11 o’clock, 75 miles, 2,500 feet. Stalkers locked, ripple fox 3.”
<Paint is giving a rough clock position of his targeted enemy group relative to his position. He has fired multiple AIM 120D missiles from the Stalker drones.>
<NOTE TO FILE: Knuckles, Plaster, and Champ radioed in with similar action.>
RAVE, Bugblast Three: “Fox 3 ripple from Rave. Stalkers Winchester.”
<Rave has fired all of the Stalker missiles that were tethered to his command and has no drone munitions remaining.>
WACKER <AWACS command>: “Splash, all hostile groups. Low group, 12 flies still in group, they’re dropping, track southwest. Medium group, 10 flies scattering, hostile. High, 12 flies, track east, 45,000.”
<From AWACS. Missiles have hit targets. The Low group now has 12 fighters remaining, they are dropping lower and have changed course, moving to the southwest. The Medium group has 10 fighters remaining and has moved out of formation but all are still flying at an altitude between 10,000 and 25,000 feet toward the F22s. The High group has 12 fighters remaining, moving in a more easterly direction at 45,000 feet.>
WACKER <AWACS command>: “Medium Pop-Up group. Medium. Plaster, target Medium group, 5 flies, west; Rave target Medium group east. Truck One target High group, Champ pull up to 55,000. Paint, Knuckles follow on Low group, come to bullseye 390, 2,000 feet, slow to 500. Truck Two target low group, bullseye 205, 55, 1,000 feet.”
<From AWACS. AWACS is stating that while the general picture remains the same, there has been a sudden change. There is a need to divide the Medium group into two separate groups. AWACS is directing Plaster to target the five fighters that are situated more to the west; Rave has been directed to target the five fighters more to the east. Missile Truck One has been directed to target High group while Champ has been directed to increase his altitude to 55,000 feet to avoid accidental targeting by Truck One. Paint and Knuckles have been directed to come to a new course and speed to avoid accidental targeting while Missile Truck Two fires on the Low group which is, relative to the bullseye, 205-degrees, 55 miles, at 1,000 feet>.
WACKER <AWACS command>: “Rave, jink. Fly is on your position.”
<From AWACS. An enemy fighter is shooting in the direction of Rave. He is to directed to take evasive action.>
RAVE, Bugblast Three: “Taking fire. I’m hit, wings a mess. Losing altitude. Smoke. Oh man, seeing some flames here.”
<Rave’s aircraft has been hit and is on fire. He is unable to maintain altitude.>
CHAMP, Bugblast One: “Rave, scram.”
<Champ directs Rave to leave the combat area.>
RAVE, Bugblase Three: “No good. I’m going down. Punching out.”
<Rave has decided the aircraft will crash and he is going to eject.>
PLASTER, Bugblast Two: “Plaster sees good chute. Rave looks good.”
<Plaster sees Rave’s parachute and it looks like a good eject.>
<NOTE, Truck One, Truck Two, Plaster, Paint, and Knuckles have fired AIM 120 missiles at Low group, Medium west group and High group, with results still uncertain.>
WACKER <AWACS command>: “Wacker on slide. Spike, Medium east group on attack vector. Truck One target Medium east group. Bullseye 135, 65 miles, 24,000 feet. Champ gate, commit, engage.
<From AWACS. The AWACS is moving off due to a change in course by Medium east group, which has now apparently targeted the AWACS. Truck One has been given targeting directive for that group which is, relative to the bullseye, 135 degrees, 65 miles, 24,000 feet. Champ has been directed to intercept at maximum speed and engage any remaining enemy targets in the group.>
CHAMP, Bugblast One: “Roger that, Champ on intercept to cover.”
<Champ acknowledges directive and has moved to intercept the
