With the corner of my eye, I see Tiffany huffing with her arms crossed, while Aron was carried by his colleagues who asked him to leave that question there.
- Isn't it funny how fickle men are? - I repeat Tiffany's words, remembering my statement about the calls, making her growl. - Bye-bye!
Complete with disdain. Tiffany hits one foot on the ground and turns to follow Aron, who screamed as he disappeared into the hallway.
- I'm gonna kill him, Taylor! You can write that down! - Aron threatens before disappearing completely through the fire exit, with a very boring Tiffany on his trail.
I take a deep breath looking at Ryder who seemed to be having fun with the situation.
- I shouldn't have done that. - I mean trying to look angry, but Ryder smiles at me again.
- You're gonna say you didn't like it?
- You're very arrogant, you know that? - I mean by folding my arms. - I should sue you for harassment. Where have you seen it? Going out kissing people like that...
- Brooke? - he makes me stay silent, so laugh. - I was talking about dancing.
Disconcerted, I look from side to side. Ryder approaches me and takes my hand, then kisses her in a gentlemanly gesture.
- I'll see you on campus Monday. - he says blinking before leaving the dance floor and disappearing at the exit with a brunette by his side.
- He's crazy! - says Jane stopping by my side.
- I agree! - I say without looking away.
- Is she a good kisser? - She asks.
I sigh staring at Jane.
- What do you think?
Jane lets out a laugh and we go to the bar together. Despite that great moment I had, there was still a long night ahead. She finishes almost at 3:00 in the morning with everyone leaving the club. I'm one of those who goes home, but Jane goes to one of the fraternities saying that the night is still a child. I have no idea where she draws so much energy!
I get to the campus apartment complex and go to my home. I enter the dormitory almost falling asleep, but I can take a long shower and put on a shorts and t-shirt to sleep. I lie in bed, tired, but Ryder's kiss makes me sleepy. Why didn't I stop him? What was the strength he had over me that kept me from reacting? I sigh thinking about the answers, but nothing comes to mind at that moment. I roll in bed until almost five in the morning and decide to watch a movie to try to relax. Even as soon as the film develops, I fall into a deep sleep. I spend the whole Sunday putting things in order, I go out to run and then I come back to watch TV. Jane arrives around 10:00, takes a shower and leaves again. Around six, she comes home and lays on the couch to watch movies with me. We make popcorn and catch up. When the watch announces that it is already ten o'clock, I decide to sleep, and by some miracle, so does she. Monday morning, I wake up, but Jane's gone. Maybe he left in the early hours. I decide to place one of the new pieces, then I take a skirt with measure up to the middle of the thighs, in chess fabric. To go with it, I wear a black silk blouse with thin straps, with a discreet neckline, but which enhance my breasts. I pick one of the Manolos I liked so much and tie my hair to a ponytail. I decide to retire my glasses and put on my slow ones, so I do a light and discreet makeup. It was the day of my class, so I didn't want to get more attention than I was already getting. I decide to go by car, since I will go to the complex and I didn't want to go on foot to ruin my shoes or my feet.
I swallow dry, breathing deeply, when I go down in the parking lot in front of the building. Everybody stops to watch me and I even get a few whistles. Some people wish me a good day and, putting the backpack on my back, I smile answering. When I walk into the lobby, the reaction I expected is even better. There's a commotion and buzz as I go by. With my head held high, I follow to my goal, which are the little bins and where Jane finds herself, stopped, amazed by what she sees.
- Oh, my God! Oh, my God! - she says, putting her hands on her face. - Who are you and what have you done to my friend?
- Hey, Jane! - I answer with a sigh. - Good morning to you too!
Jane smiles and grabs my arm and spins me around.
- Wow! You look beautiful, and you look hot too! - Jane says slapping my ass.
I'll let out a laugh. I'm not very good at it. I'll let out a laugh with your rude, furious attitude.
- Stop it! Stop it! You're making me look dull! - I mean subtly reprimanding. - It's not for that. It's just new clothes. It's no big deal. It's still me here.
- It's no big deal? - she goes on. - You're too much of a cat! Even my male side wants you to make a stripper for me.
- Jane!
She lets out a funny laugh, making me turn my eyes
