a little bit of makeup.

“Thanks…I think. Though, I do have to admit…it is about time I got here. Things took a little longer than I’d hoped, but I got what I needed. We’ll talk about that later. Can you show me that ring since you wouldn’t show it to me over Skype?”

Téa pulled her hand from behind her back and put it up to Jessie’s face, “POW!”

Jessie pretended like she needed to use her hands to block the powerful glare of the diamond. “Wow…that thing is huge. How many carets is that four or five?”

“The Carat, Cut, Clarity, and Color of this diamond is a 10! And, this is a six caret ring.”

As Téa and Jessie were admiring her ring, Brian and Michael came out of the house. Michael kissed Jessie on the cheek as Brian tipped the driver and grabbed her bags.

“I know Téa showed you the ring. I knew she couldn’t wait for us to show you together. How did I do?”

Jessie laughed “Michael you made an excellent choice. That ring totally fits Téa’s personality. I’m so happy for both of you.”

Téa couldn’t believe her luck. She never thought she would ever meet someone who accepted her flaws and all. However, she was still a little nervous about telling Michael about Mega-AX1. He might be a little angry that she didn’t tell him before now, but she knew without a shadow of a doubt that he’d still love and support her.

Brian put the carry-on strap over his shoulder while sneaking a peak at Jessie’s ass. He was surprised both at how sexy she looked and at himself for looking. He hoped no one else caught him in the act. He cleared his throat, “Yeah, my little brother did a good job picking both the ring and the girl.”

Brian had never met a woman with such an amazing figure that kept it all hidden. The most skin Jessie had ever shown was the night he’d met her at his birthday party. Since it was so out of character for her, it made him a little curious as to what business she’d been attending.

Brian bent to kiss Jessie on her cheek. She looked up at him with those large almond-shaped eyes. They were light brown with specs of green. Sometimes they were more green than brown. As perfect as Jessie’s body was, it wasn’t even her best asset. Her best assets were her eyes. They could make a man do anything. Too bad she had become such a good friend. He would never do anything to jeopardize that.

Jessie felt the softness of his lips and the warmth of Brian’s kiss on her cheek. That all too familiar tingle was back.

Téa and Michael were so engrossed in each other that they missed the volt of electricity in the air. Both Brian and Jessie hoped the other hadn’t noticed it either. Brian needed to get himself together and quickly started walking towards the house. He threw Jessie’s bag over his shoulder “Hey guys we better get inside. I know it’s early, but I’ve got steaks on the grill and I don’t want them to burn.”

When dinner was over, Jessie went upstairs to the guest bedroom to put her things away and get settled. Since Téa’s condo was so far away, both she and Téa planned to stay the weekend at Brian’s.

She’d hoped a shower would help to relax her a little. It was crazy to feel uneasy with Brian. He was like a brother to her. Yet, here she was for almost twenty minutes trying to decide what outfit to wear. Would it be the pair of fitted yoga pants and crop tee since it showed off her toned abs and cute butt or the usual pair of loose-fitting sweats and oversized t-shirt? Jessie rolled her eyes at herself for having this dilemma about what to wear just to simply hang out with Brian. She snatched up an outfit, swept her hair into a ponytail, and went downstairs.

Jessie had spent too much time upstairs. By the time she came down, Michael and Téa had already left to attend a fundraiser. Unfortunately, they didn’t know she was coming into town until the last minute. The fundraiser had been scheduled for months, so there was no getting out of it. That left Jessie and Brian home alone.

The room was in semi-darkness. The fire blazing was the only light. If Jessie hadn’t spotted Brian sitting on the sofa, she might have thought the room was empty. When she entered the room he had a glass of brandy in one hand and a script in the other. She couldn’t understand how he could even see with nothing but the firelight.

“Why are you sitting in the dark reading?”

Earlier in the day, Brian was just thinking that he’d never seen Jessie wear anything any more revealing than what she’d worn the night of his birthday party. But tonight, she was making his mouth water wearing a crop top, baring her smooth stomach. He wondered what it would be like to run his tongue across it. That thought seemed to come out of nowhere. Earlier he was admiring her ass, now he was wondering about kissing her body. He really needed to get it together. This was Jessie after all. Brian dropped his head back down into his script. He continued to stare at it but couldn’t make out a single word on the page. Jessie sat down on the opposite end of the sofa and curled her legs underneath her.

“Mmm…I didn’t even realize the sun had gone down.”

“You must be really focused then. I can turn on a lamp and give you some privacy.”

“No. I’m good.” Brian was hesitant for a moment before asking the question that had been playing around in his mind, “I’ve just got to ask about the guy you’re dating. Who is he?”
