‘It’s so beautiful,’ she breathes. ‘I love this place.’
‘You and me, both.’
I take her by the hand and lead her over to the sunbeds. There’s a blanket laid out on the sand, a picnic hamper ready, complete with a bottle of champagne and a couple of torches which I’ll light when the sky darkens. In a while we’ll dig into the food, prepared by Kathy, and drink a toast to us. She’ll wish me a happy birthday and cuddle into my arms, and we’ll chat: small talk, big talk, talk about the children, her plans for painting, the latest gossip in the art world, developments for the new gallery.
But before that, I have something else in mind. I pull my penknife out of my shorts pocket. Maya sees it and raises an eyebrow.
‘Notches.’ I wave it at my favourite sunbed.
‘You keep on defacing Bill’s expensive furniture, and you’ll get in trouble.’
‘He never comes down here. Remember?’
She makes her way over to the sunbed.
‘Five,’ she counts.
‘So, let’s make it six.’ Dropping the knife onto the sand, I settle myself on the bed and wait for my favourite show.
Her eyes glisten in the dimming light. Her lips part.
And my cock goes on the rampage.
‘Now … strip for me.’
