babble about something, but I'd fixated on what she'd said about marriage. Heat rushed to my cheeks as I wondered what it would've been like to be married to Christian Frost. He was always so strong and tough and no-nonsense at work, but I'd slowly been seeing different sides to him. What would it be like, to come home to a man like that each evening? To fall asleep in his arms?

To make love to him?

Immediately, I started silently cursing at myself for even going down that trail of thoughts. Sleeping with Christian was what had gotten me into this mess in the first place. I really didn't need to be thinking about sleeping with him ever again, even in a fantasy. I'd been worried about possibly having to share a room with him, wondering how I'd be able to keep my hands off of him, but it seemed like his mother had already solved that problem, thankfully.

"Here's your room!" Holly said excitedly, drawing me back out of my thoughts. Holly opened one of the doors and revealed a massive room, one that was at least twice the size of my bedroom back home. My eyes went wide as I took it all in, but then I probably shouldn't have been so surprised. Everything else had been massive, why wouldn't the rooms?

There was a large window on the far wall, giving me a gorgeous view of the backside of the property. I found myself drawn to it, gazing out over more fields. The majestic creatures captivated my attention, and I stared open mouthed at them.

They were absolutely gorgeous. Even at a distance, I could clearly see their shining coats, their rippling muscles. As a young girl, horses had always fascinated me, and I'd always wanted to have one, to learn how to ride. But when you grow up in a working class family in the middle of a city, horse riding was never an option. Even though it'd been years since those childhood fantasies, I couldn't help but want to rush out there and climb up onto one, though it probably would've dumped me on my ass.

Holly didn't seem to mind in the least bit that I'd rushed over to the window to look at the horses. She just walked up next to me and started talking again. She pointed out the a large, black horse whose fur glistened in the sunlight. "That one's Blacklight," she said, pride evident in her voice right from the start. "He's mine! Uncle Nicky bought him for me when I was six! Do you know how to ride?"

I shook my head, feeling the heat rise in my cheeks again. Here was this small girl who'd been riding for at least four or five years it seemed, and I'd never actually gotten to see a horse in person before. No doubt she could ride circles around me without even putting in any effort.

But my embarrassment didn't seem to register to the girl. She just bounced up and down even more, excitement practically radiated from her. "Oh, I'll have to teach you then! You can even ride Blacklight, if you want. She's a sweetheart. You'll love her!"

Before I knew it, the girl had a plan of action. She didn't even stop to consider what her parents, or Christian, might think about the idea. She'd set her mind on it, and I had a feeling nothing was going to change it.

She reminded me a lot of Christian. She had the same determination he had, though she was far cuter, and I wondered if it was a family trait. Were all the Frosts like this? From what little I'd seen of Christian's mother, she certainly was, and I had a feeling I was in for an entire week of people who knew what they wanted and made it happen at all costs.

It was going to take a small miracle to get through the weekend unscathed. But as I turned and looked at the majestic horses still grazing without a care in the world, I realized it didn't matter. The world seemed determined to move on without my consent, so I might as well just buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Christian

Nick and Aspen were both waiting in the upstairs sitting room when I got up there. Both had glasses of Scotch in hand, and Aspen handed me one before giving me a hug. "You've been gone for way too long," he teased.

"I know, I know. Work just gets away from me sometimes." It had always been one of my flaws. I tended to spend more time focused on work than anything else. It helped make the company as successful as it was, but it usually meant neglecting the rest of my life. We'd all been inseparable as kids, but I couldn't remember the last time I'd seen any of my brothers.

Nick was next to hug me, wrapping his arms tight around me like he wanted to squeeze me in half. I grunted as the wind was knocked from my lungs. And here I'd thought Holly's flying jump into my arms had been bad! "It's good to see you too, Nicky," I said, struggling to breathe. "Did you miss me?"

"Always," he said, grinning as he released me and stepped back.

“Where’s Jack?” I asked next. His daughter had nearly bowled me over downstairs, but I hadn’t seen my other older brother yet.

Nick shrugged. “He said he might be a little late getting here, so he’d sent Emma and Holly out ahead. You know how it is, being so busy. It really is good to see you, little bro. I hope you're at least enjoying turning that company of yours into a virtual empire."

I smirked at him and shrugged. I couldn't deny that I did enjoy my work, but it wasn't just me that made the company so successful. I had an entire group of people who helped Frost Industries rise from a simple startup to the worldwide powerhouse it
