wasn’t right.”

“Well, I hope everything is straight. I don’t know what I’ll do if I ever hear anything about him hurting her and the baby. And speaking of the baby, does she know what she’s having yet?”

“Yes, but don’t say anything.”

“I won’t.”

“It’s a girl.”

“Another girl,” I said as I playfully rolled my eyes. It seemed like Wayne, and I was going to be only guys through my mother. Wayne already had two girls, now Bre was bringing in another one.

“Yes, another girl. What’s wrong with girls?”

“Nothing, but drama, girly shit, drama, and stress.”

“Wow, is that how you feel about me?” She said and punched me in the arm.

“Nah, not you. You’re special.” I said as I wrapped my arm around her shoulder.

“Mhm. Whatever.”

“You are.”

“I better be.

“Do you plan on telling Bre?” I asked.

“I should since we’re official now. I don’t want to keep lying to her.”

“Yeah, well you didn’t have to lie, you know? Are you ashamed of me or something?”

“What?! No, I just wasn’t sure how she would take it if her best friend was messing around with her brother. Girl code.”

“Yeah, whatever. You better never be ashamed of me.”

“You either. So let all the girls on your line know that you’re taken now.”

“I gotcha, but I don’t have that many girls that I talk to like you’re probably assuming.”

“Well, I don’t care anymore as long as they’re gone now.”

“I said I gotcha.”

“And we need to go on an official date.”

“This wasn’t it?” I joked. She hit me again.

“I’m not playing Eric. I want an actual date that you plan. I’ll just show up.”

“Okay,” I said, then grabbed her hand and kissed it.

“Let’s take a shower and change these sheets,” Chianne said as she got up and I followed.

“I love you, Eric. I’ve never been so vulnerable around anyone else. I gave you something that I treasure a lot, and I don’t know what we become after this day, but promise that you won’t play me or break my heart.”

“I love you too, Chi. And I promise to never break your heart or play with your feelings.”

13. Wayne

This club life was starting to get boring after two weeks of this shit. Roon had my ass in every damn club in the city, and I was already over it. Although we were always in the VIP section, it stayed crowded with thirsty mofos trying to get free liquor or get on with Roon. Roon was never into attention, so he was laid back most of the time we were in the club. I was the same and just sipped from a bottle or smoked my blunt. Tonight we were at Bliss, and the scene was the same as every other club. However, Roon was coming through later because he had a business meeting to attend first.

“Can I sit here?” This soft, feminine voice asked. I was caught off guard because most people just sat down without even asking or was looking for the liquor before they even introduced themselves. I took a minute to check shawty out. She was cute as fuck but looked a little young. Hell, I wasn’t even twenty-one, and here I was in the club, ordering drinks like I was legal. Anywho, she was brown skin like a Twix bar with uniquely-shaped eyes like cat eyes but had a mystique shape. Her nose reminded me of Alvin and the Chipmunks, but it was cute and fitted her face. She had luscious thick lips that were heavily coated in lip gloss. Her black hair was hanging down her back and curly; it probably was a wig because that’s what chicks wore nowadays. And she was wearing this low v-cut bright orange dress that stopped above her knees and matching heels. That orange color really complimented her complexion and had me lusting after her already.

“Yes….no?” She said, bringing me back from my thoughts. Damn was she beautiful, and that body was perfect. She had a shape like Draya Michelle.

“My bad. Yeah, sure.” I said as I moved over to make some room for her even though she had plenty. Once she sat down, I got a whiff of her sweet coconut perfume.

“Do you have a lighter?” She asked as she pulled a blunt from her small clear purse. Just my luck, I did since I was now a regular smoker. I took it out of my pockets and handed it to her.

“I’m not going to steal it, you don’t have to watch me.” She joked. Damn, her smile was cute. I laughed a little because I guess I was staring too hard. After she lit her blunt, she put my lighter in her purse.

“So, you just steal people’s lighters?” I asked playfully.

“So, you just stare without asking people for their name, at least?” She countered.

“If you give me your name, will you give me my lighter back? That’s my third one this week since people like you keep taking them.”

“People like me? You don’t even know me.” She smiled.

“Should I?”

“Yeah, you should.” She said as she blew out some smoke then leaned closer to me. “Don’t you want to?” She asked, licking her lips. Damn, I haven’t been on the single scene long, but this girl was about to make me cuff her ass. I couldn’t because she was coming off a little too promiscuous, but I didn’t mind because it showed she wasn’t about games. I’ve been single for two weeks, and all I managed to do was get some head from two different broads. Although I was on my single wave, I wasn’t trying to stick my guy up in anything. I was real selective with who got this work.

“What’s your name, shawty?” I asked her.

“Mikayla.”

“Nice crib,” I said as we entered her apartment. We ended up here because I couldn’t bring her back to my house, and her spot was closer.

“Thanks. Make yourself at home.” She said as she walked into a room. I sat down on the cream-colored sectional and looked
