has been a lot more today for some reason.”

“Any idea why?” I ask.

“Not sure, but we’ll put them down,” answers the other entrance guard.

“What’s your name?” I ask the entrance guard.

“Drew,” answers the entrance guard.

“Nice to meet you Drew, I’m Ryan,” I reply to Drew and then I shake Drew’s right hand.

Drew smiles and says, “I definitely know who you are sir.”

“Have fun guys. I’m going to check out the Medical house before turning in for the night,” I say to Drew and Brody.

“Thank you sir,” replies Brody.

“Keep up the good work. I appreciate you guys protecting this place,” I say to Brody and Drew.

I say goodbye to Brody and Drew and then I enter the Medical house.

I step into the Medical house and close the front door. The smell of cleaning products fills the air as someone must have just cleaned the floors and tables in the Medical house.

Every time I enter the Medical house I feel the need to check our supplies and see if anything is missing.

I check our supplies in the cabinets and containers and everything looks to be okay with our inventory.

The Medical house front door opens, and two people enter the Medical house.

I look at the people and I see that it’s Jon and Kelly.

“Oh hey Ry, everything okay?” asks Kelly.

“Yeah, how about you?” I answer.

“We are good, we just needed a bottle of headache medicine,” answers Kelly.

“Jon giving you a headache?” I joke.

“I think it’s my allergies or something, but I’ve been getting more headaches and sinus pressure lately,” replies Kelly.

“Yeah, I know what you mean. I take an allergy pill every morning and my allergies still bother me,” I reply.

Jon grabs a bottle of headache medicine and he writes his name on the inventory sheet and that he took one bottle of medicine.

“What are you doing in here Ry?” asks Jon.

“Just checking things over. I’ve been a little worried about this place lately and I wanted to make sure our armory and supplies are in good shape,” I answer Jon.

“Should we be worried?” asks Kelly.

I see the concerned look on Kelly’s face and I’m not sure how to answer. Should I tell her what’s going on and everything I know and possibly have her worry more or tell her the basic version of things?

“How was the trip to the zoo?” asks Jon.

I quickly answer Jon, “Good. Everything is good there and we even talked with TJ.”

“At the zoo?” asks Jon.

I smile and answer Jon, “No, TJ was here when we got back, and Phil and I talked with him.”

“I was going to say, I wouldn’t think TJ wanted anything to do with Bakari after storming off like he did,” replies Jon.

“I’m going to head back home and lie down,” says Kelly to Jon and me.

Jon hands Kelly the headache medicine and replies to Kelly, “I’ll be home in a minute.”

“Bye Kel, I hope you feel better,” I say to Kelly.

Kelly exits the Medical house and goes home.

“What did TJ say?” asks Jon.

I look at Jon and answer, “He was attacked by some soldiers from MacDill. Odin was shot, but he’s okay, and he’s living on an Indian reservation now.”

“Man, I missed a great meeting,” says Jon.

I exit the Medical house with Jon, and I lock the Medical house front door.

“I’m worried about this place Jon and I have a feeling that Jacob will attack us,” I say to Jon.

“What makes you say that?” asks Jon as I stand with Jon at the bottom of the Medical house driveway.

“I have a feeling about it and I’m just wondering why he hasn’t yet,” I reply.

“Well what can we do about it?” asks Jon.

I look in the distance at our graveyard and think about Jon’s question.

“What about the agreement with Jacob?” asks Jon.

“I’m sure that handshake agreement has fallen apart,” I answer Jon.

“Well whatever you need Ry, you know I’ll do whatever I can to help,” says Jon.

I look at Jon and reply, “I know. You have been a great friend all these years. I’m glad you and Kelly are here with us.”

“Me too, but try to get some rest you look like shit,” jokes Jon.

“Thanks. I’ll see you later,” I reply to Jon and then I head home for the night.

CHAPTER 3

COME ON BALDY

A short Caucasian man exits his bedroom and enters his kitchen. The man hears two people talking in his living room and he walks over to them.

“Morning dad,” says a pre-teen Caucasian boy, who is sitting in the living room with his Caucasian mother, to the man as the man walks into the living room.

“Morning babe, you want some breakfast?” asks the woman to the man.

“That would be great, thank you,” answers the man.

The woman stands up from the living room sofa and kisses the man on the lips.

“Are you going out with DK today?” asks the pre-teen boy to the man.

The man looks at the boy and answers, “Brandon don’t worry about what I’m doing today. You just keep working on your studies.”

“How many eggs you want this morning?” asks the woman to the man.

The man walks into the kitchen and answers, “Three should be good. Did you and Brandon eat already?”

“No, we were waiting for you,” answers the woman.

“Sorry about that, but your brother and his crew kept me up late last night,” replies the man.

“Anything you can tell me?” asks the woman.

“You know I keep my home life separate from my work life,” answers the man.

“But that was the problem before, and our therapist told us both to open up more. Beth and Jacob can’t be so distant
