“I don’t—” I began but he cut me off.
“Mac, is Stacy busy?”
“Now you already know my sister will drop anything she is doing for you, especially if your credit card is involved.” Gabe nodded.
“Can you ask her if she can accompany Yasmin?”
“Already on it!” Mac said cutting him off as he began to dial a number on his phone.
“What you doing?” He said into the receiver as he too left the kitchen.
I looked toward the door he had just gone through. I was alone with Gabe again. I bit my lip thinking about the words he had just whispered in my ear.
“Look at me baby.”
I closed my eyes for just a moment as his low deep voice washed over me like smoke. When I opened them and turned to look back at him, the look of hunger in his penetrating gaze snatched my breath from me.
“I know you’re innocent, and I know I should take things slow with you.” He looked down picking up my hand that Kenny hand just been holding; the one with my mother’s ring on it.
“But I can’t. I need you so bad I can barely focus on anything else. However, I will try the best I can to be gentle with you, at least at first.” I looked up from our hands.
“At first?” I was confused. He smiled.
“You have so much to learn, and I am thrilled that I will be the one to teach you. Yes, at first sweetheart. However, sometime a little aggression can be pleasurable.” I frowned because I couldn’t imagine that. Surely, one preferred gentleness over aggression.
“You don’t understand what I mean do you?” I shook my head, drowning in his gaze.
“Here let me show you.” He put his hand on my lower back, and slid me closer to him, till my center touched his. The movement had been so sudden that it startled me. But I didn’t have time to ponder that because his hands were palming my face and his mouth was taking mine. I moaned when he forced my mouth open with his. And then he began to invade my mouth with his tongue. The only thing I could do was hold on to his arms as he forcibly took my mouth repeatedly with his.
All my reasonable thought went out the window to be replaced by pure uncut lust. I wrapped my legs tightly around his waist as he snatched me off the counter. Moments later my back was against the wall and his hard body had complete access to my softness. Both of his hands were on my waist which he controlled like a master. Bringing my hips to meet his as he forcibly rubbed against me—the whole time continuing to invade my mouth with his tongue.
My moans got louder and louder. When he broke off the kiss and his mouth began to attack my neck with the same fever, I squeezed my eyes shut as what felt like a volcano began to build in me. That feeling he had caused me to feel on that table at Shugga’s was coming forth with a vengeance. I clutched at his back pulling him closer. I needed—
“Hey, Gabe, I need to run to the office for a bit… ” Kenny said coming back into the kitchen.
“Whoa!” He said when he noticed us against the wall.
“Damn Kenny, get out!” Gabe growled without looking back at his friend.
“Yeah man, yeah… I feel you, I bet she taste go—”
“Kenny!” Gabe slapped the wall over our head causing me to jump. I looked up to where he had hit because it sounded as if some of the wall crumbled behind me. There was a dent from the impact of his hand. My eyes widened in fear. When I turned to look back at him, he too was looking where he had hit. Then his eyes came back down to mine, searching them. He must have seen my fear cause he exhaled, putting his forearm on the wall next to my head.
“I—I’m sorry!” He mumbled letting my legs slide down his body. His head hung, and for a moment he looked ashamed. I don’t know why but I felt a strong need to comfort him in that moment. I lifted my hand to gently touched his cheek, massaging my fingers through his soft beard. His eyes came down to mine, surprised at my touch. I smiled at him. He and I had a kindred spirit. He felt as if his strength was a curse, the same way I felt about my beauty.
“It’s okay, I understand.”
Chapter 6
Nightmare
Yasmin
I slipped out of my gym shoes and stood with my back pressed against the front door, looking around my house that no longer felt like home. The sound of talk radio had been silenced. Pa-pa listened to hours and hours of it. His old lazy boy didn’t creek underneath his weight. My trembling hand went to my mouth. The realization that he will never sit in that old chair again felt like somebody had hit me in the stomach with a sledge hammer. And for the first time since I found him laying face down in the raspberry grove, I was going to lose it.
But before the tears could fall, someone knocked on the door behind me, causing me to jump in fright.
I stood and turned to face it.
“Who is it?” My voice quivered from my unshed tears.
“Its Mayor Davenport sweetheart, I just came to check on you and make sure you’re okay.” I frowned at the door. Mayor Davenport? Why in the world would the Mayor be here at my house checking on me? I put the chain on the door before I cracked it open just enough for me to look out.
“Thank you sir, I’m fine?” My words were barely over a whisper. Because the truth was, I didn’t feel like talking at all. I just wanted to
