think he was a regular soldier. Regular soldiers went on deployments, not missions she thought. They had denied being Special Forces; whatever it was she knew there was more to them than met the eye.

She felt Ben tense under her and knew she struck a nerve. He was very hush hush about what he did. Was he a spy? Was that even a thing in the Army? He hadn’t been happy with her at lunch when she brought up James Bond and call signs.

"Hannah," Ben said her name cautiously then stopped.

"It's okay." She quickly assured him. "If it's super-secret you don't have to tell me. It just seemed strange you just got back from rescuing me and now you're going back out again."

"I can't tell you," Ben said defeated. "There are things about me I could never tell you, not because I don't trust you." He hurried to assure her. "Because if you know it could put your life in danger."

Hadn't she been living a life of danger the past year and a half?

But if Ben said she couldn't know for her safety she would let it go. For now. "Okay," Hannah said placated and laid back on his chest.

"I have to apologize for earlier. I said I wouldn't let things get as far as they did."

"Nothing happened that I didn't want to happen," Hannah assured him petting his chest. She had lived out a fantasy she had been having for years. Though there was real sex in the fantasy but this was just as good. Maybe when he came back from mission they could do more.

"Good," Ben pulled her close and hugged her. "I'd hate for you to ever doubt trusting me."

Hannah chuckled at his thoughtfulness and kissed his chest in appreciation. "I'd hate to break it to you, but it will take more than you getting naked and giving me the best orgasm of my life to doubt you."

"Best orgasm, huh?" Hannah looked at Ben all but preen under her praise. Uh oh. She really should have kept her mouth shut. As if Golden Midas needed his ego stroked anymore.

"Let's see how many more best orgasms of your life I can get out of you before I leave."

Ben rolled over her and proceeded to pleasure her the night through.

Hannah stood in the doorway waving Ben off as he headed off for god knew where to do god knew what. She hated not knowing but if it was anything like what he did when he saved her it was probably a good thing she didn't know. Once gone she looked around the empty house wondering, now what?

She knew she should call her family and let them know she was alive and well but she was scared. Ben thought her parents wouldn't care what she had gone through only that she was alive. She didn't feel as confident. They would look at her different and treat her different. She didn't want to see the pity in their eyes. She could call her brother, Gideon. He had always looked out for her but she couldn't remember his number. She didn't even have a phone come to think of it. She looked around the house but couldn't even see a house phone. What was she supposed to do if someone came to the house or she needed help? Send out a smoke signal? Yeah, that would save her.

Hannah froze when she heard someone knocking on the front door. Hannah debated answering but if it was someone from Ben’s team she didn't want to leave them outside. Hannah looked around the living room for a weapon if it became necessary. The best she could find was the TV remote. Seriously? He was a soldier and he didn’t have weapons in his house? She would look through the peephole and see who it was. If they looked like Alejandro's men then she would run screaming and draw the neighbor’s attention. A second knock sounded and Hannah looked through the peephole. What she hadn’t been expecting to see was a woman standing on the porch.

"Who are you?" Hannah yelled through the door.

"I'm Cora, Ben's next door neighbor." the woman said sweetly. "I watch his house while he's gone."

Hannah remembered Ben telling her about a neighbor watching the house. Could she be telling the truth? Hannah had to make a split decision. Cora, if that was really her name, knew she was there. Hannah peeked through the hole to make sure Cora was alone before unlocking the door.

Hannah opened the door and was greeted by a woman a few inches taller than her five foot six height. She had short spiky brown hair and kind amber eyes. Cora wore a jean jacket over a teal tank top and jeans.

"Hi," Cora said with her hand held out when Hannah opened the door wide enough. "You must be Hannah."

"Hi," Hannah stayed half hidden behind the door but shook the proffered hand.

"Well besides introducing myself, Ben told me that you don't know anyone here and you don't have a phone." Cora pulled a phone out of her back pocket and handed it to Hannah.

Should she take it? What if it was bugged?

"You probably don't trust me but trust Ben. I've known him for years. You can even call him and ask him yourself if you don't believe me."

Hannah took the phone and dialed the number Ben had given her. "Hey, Hannah." He answered right away "I see Cora showed up already and gave you the phone."

Hannah sagged in relief against the door. She had just been paranoid. Hannah cleared her throat. "Yes, I was just calling to say thank you." He didn’t need to know she was panicking without him.

"Hannah, you can admit you were scared there was a stranger outside the door and were checking with me." It was scaring how well he knew her.

"Your right." Hannah tapped her toe "Sorry to bother you"

"Don't sweat it I'm glad you’re taking precautions and staying safe. I’m sorry I
