Matt and Cole were both headed to college in the city, so it would be an easy commute for them, and we were close enough to Kade’s precinct and Kyle’s office. I’d be close to Keira and Grant and for now making this house home would be a great focus for me.
“That’s the plan.” Cole agreed as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders and pulled me in for a hug.
“Thank you, all of you. I n-never thought…..never even dared to dream I could be this happy, and it’s all because of you.”
“It was the same for us Cariña. Before you we had plans, but they only involved us getting by; surviving our pasts however we could. Now, with you, we all see happiness and peace in our future. That is what you have given us, and continue to give us every day we have you at our sides.” Matt said, making me blubber even more than before.
Unable to speak through the overwhelming emotions Matt’s words and this amazing day had brought me to, I instead waved them all in and we hugged, me in the middle, surrounded by my four amazingly strong and brave guys.
‘And they all lived happily ever after.’ Was my magical thought in that perfect moment, but I wasn’t that naive. We had all been through hell to get us to that point. I may not know all of my guy’s stories, but I knew that was true. We, of all people, knew only too well what life could throw at you when you least expected it.
But what would happen, would happen and we would have to face it all, the good and the bad as it came. As long as we stuck together and clung to the love and strength we had built, nothing could ever tear us apart, and knowing that was enough for me.
For the moment I decided to take the temporary happily ever after and enjoy every single second of it.
