“It’s beautiful.” I assured him. “But how?”
“We’ve been pooling our money for years, always planning to live together. Kade and Cole each had some inheritance from their families which started us off, but Mom and Dad never spent the money they got from the state for us. They never did it for the money. Instead it went to us and we have saved every penny. Kyle used that for some very wise investments on the stock market over the years and it’s just grown and grown. We had plenty to buy this, and for us to furnish it however we want to.” Matt explained. Kyle played the stock market? That was news to me, and something I would be talking to him about with great interest later.
“This is really ours?” I asked excitedly.
“Sure is.” Kyle smiled as he held up a set of keys. “Want to go in and have a look around?”
“Yes!” I squealed as I scrambled over Matt to leap out of the car, saved only from spilling out by Cole who had anticipated my childlike excitement and got out of the car. He had the door open and was waiting with a huge grin on his face. He caught me just in time.
“Take it easy Brains. We’ve got plenty of time. We live here now.” He laughed as he settled me on my feet.
“Sorry. It’s just so exciting. This place is amazing.” I cried as I hurried up three small steps leading me to the wide polished oak front door.
“It’s a five minute drive to Mom and Dad’s. Their only request was that we stay close.” Kyle said as he stepped up beside me and slid the key into the lock.
“That’s good. I want to be close to them.” I agreed. I would want to see them, and Evie often, but it would be so wonderful to have our own space.
“Want to do the honours, Princess?” Kyle asked as he pulled out the key and stepped back.
“Absolutely, but before we go in, I just want you guys to know that this is without doubt the most exciting moment of my entire life so far!” I gushed, unable to contain my excitement and happiness at what I knew was the first major step in our lives together.
“Us too, Livy. We can’t wait to all build our lives together in this house.” Kade said, as the others all nodded and smiled in agreement.
Unable to stop myself, I leant in and kissed each of them in turn, just a quick peck on their lips, but I needed them to know in that moment, how much I loved them and how happy I was, and that seemed the best way.
“Right, come on Chica. Let’s get inside.” Matt prompted and I agreed eagerly, turning the huge door knob and opening the door to our future.
Once again, I was rendered completely speechless as we walked inside. There was a small entrance hall with room for some storage and a line of coat hooks. That led to a wide staircase off to the right, and there were several doorways. Kyle directed me to the left and I opened that door to reveal a huge, open concept living area, with a spacious kitchen at the back and huge sets of sliding glass doors that seemed to lead out to a huge wooden veranda. On one wall there was a large stone fireplace with what looked to be a real log fire inside.
I hurried to the doors and looked out, seeing I had been right, it was a veranda, overlooking a garden the size of a football field, all landscaped with paths and beautiful flower beds.
“Kyle has already arranged for someone to fence the gardens in for us. And fit electric gates out front, like Mom and Dad have.” Kade said as he came up behind me and wrapped his hands around my waist, holding my back to his front.
“For security?” I asked, hating that it needed to be a consideration.
“Yes. We still need to be careful. Even when everything with the shooter is settled, Kyle and I still have dangerous jobs and we won’t risk bringing them home to you guys.” He said firmly, and it did make sense. There was always a risk of danger when they spent their days chasing bad guys. It couldn’t hurt to be cautious, plus I liked the idea of the privacy fences would give us. I loved being outside in my own little bubble at Keira and Grant’s, and now I’d be able to have that in our new home too.
“I love the garden, and the balcony. I can see myself sitting out there watching the sunset.” I sighed happily.
“We knew you would.” Cole agreed as he appeared at my side.
“I love it all.” I added as I turned and took in the whole room again. The kitchen was a perfect mix of white cabinets and dark slate grey granite countertops. The floors throughout were highly polished oak and the neutral cream walls had so much promise for us to make our mark.
“It has six bedrooms, so one each and a spare for Evie, or guests. There’s also an office, and a large second lounge, which we plan to split into two smaller rooms. One for a home gym, and one for you…..for a music room.” Kyle explained.
Hearing they had planned every single thing I could possibly want, down to a freaking music room, was the last straw. My tears escaped and instantly I was a blubbering mess.
“Livy?” Kade looked to me with worry, but I waved him off as I tried to compose myself.
“Happy.” I whimpered, wanting to stop them all from panicking that I was going to freak. “They’re happy tears. This house…..it’s perfect, you guys. I love it, every part of it. I’m so happy.”
“Oh, thank God. I thought you hated it, for a minute there.” Kade laughed.
“Of course not! It’s amazing. I can see us all being so happy here.” It
