She doesn’t know it yet, but she’s not going back with that asshole.
By the end of two weeks, he’s going to be chained in the basement begging for death when I’m done with him.
“Rest up, baby. I’m not going anywhere,” I whisper in her ear.
I hold her until she falls asleep. I watch the rise and fall of her chest until sleep takes me over.
Please don’t let me lose another woman that means so much to me.
Chapter Twenty One
Camilla
Nine days later…
My hands are shaking as the opportunity comes for me to get away.
It’s late at night and everyone is sleeping, so I know that I can slip out without anyone seeing me. My brother usually watches me at night, but I look over and he’s facing the wall sound asleep.
I’ve been watching the men at night and I know that there are prospects watching the building.
The clubhouse is on a street with only a few houses now as many families chose to move away from the club which, from the stories that I’ve heard, is understandable.
The club had torn down some of the houses that were in bad shape to make room for the businesses they run.
The back of the clubhouse goes out to a forest where Tyson took me on our first date.
This is such a beautiful place and I can’t believe that I won’t see it again.
I would be lucky to even see the sun again, but I can only hope that Reaper takes us far away so that he can’t threaten the club anymore.
I try to hold back the tears forming from my fear and sadness regarding what I am about to do.
My mind goes back to everything I have learned in self-defence and what I would need to do if the opportunity presents itself. I will do anything I can to take him down if I have the chance.
I may be going back there to save the club and family I have here, but I’m going to fight like hell to get myself back too.
I listen to the quiet of the clubhouse one more time before I slip on my runners and make my way out.
Slowly opening the door, I look back and see that my brother is still asleep. I quietly move and shut the door behind me.
No one is in the hallway which is a good sign. I expected some brothers to still be partying, but all I get is the quiet and stillness of the house.
It should seem off, but they don’t party every night and they haven’t the last couple nights as far as I knew.
When I get to the common room, I hear clicking on a keyboard and I freeze. I look towards the bar and Tech is sitting there doing what he usually does for the club. Since he’s a night owl, that’s not out of the ordinary.
I breathe a sigh of relief when I see that he is listening to loud music on his headphones. I can kind of hear it from across the room, so I know that he can’t hear me.
When he turns around like he can almost sense my presence, I push myself against the wall in the hallway and hope that he didn’t see me.
When I hear the same clicking again, I make my move while he’s distracted.
There is a prospect walking the perimeter.
His phone rings and he stops walking. I hear him speak. It sounds like he’s talking to a woman, so he keeps on walking with the phone to his ear completely distracted.
I shake my head at the idiot. Derek would shit a brick if he knew that he wasn’t completely focused on the club.
When his back is turned, I make my way to the row of vehicles.
When I get to the door of my parents’ vehicle, I open it and climb in. I still when the sound of the door shutting has the prospect freezing and looking around.
I duck as much as I can when he looks this way.
My heart is beating a mile a minute, but he continues on the phone like nothing is wrong.
He gets towards the back of the property and I take the chance to start the vehicle.
I know that I have to move fast because there is no way that he didn’t hear it.
As I pull onto the street and drive away, I see him running after the car.
He stops when he realizes that he can’t catch up to me, and I see him on the phone.
My phone rings in my jeans and I go to grab it.
I see that same unknown number and I know exactly who it is.
Placing the phone to my ear, I wait for him to talk.
“Good job, baby. Now Drive down to the docks. You have fifteen minutes or I’m blowing up the club for you being late.”
He hangs up without waiting for my reply.
I have no idea how he knew that I got away, but I can’t think about that now.
The drive to the docks is long, and I don’t know if I am supposed to go to the warehouse or the boat that’s floating beside the dock.
The door to the warehouse opens as I pull up. Reaper appears looking worse for wear.
He walks my way and I don’t know what he’s doing.
Holding out his hand he says. “Phone.”
I hand him my phone without question. He immediately grabs me from the still running car and points a gun at my face.
“Try anything and I will shoot,” he says, and I nod my head.
Grabbing a brick from the ground, he places it on the gas petal and the car goes flying into the other side of the water. Opposite
