Greg? So, what I was thinking is these crop dusters spray stuff on fields, right? So, if that's the case why don't we just tweak a little and go to town with it. We can stick Bob in this, and once he gets going. Then maybe if we can draw out enough of the Turned, maybe we could like use a tank and blow some shit up and get them drawn into one space and he can just paint the little bastards with them. Can you imagine how many you could take out if you had some serious amount of spray that you could unleash on them?”

“So, you want to take the plane, which we also don't know if it works, go back to the base with it. Then we're going to have Pilot Bob take a look at it and see if it works? Is that about the gist of it, Shaun?”

“Jesus, man, what else do you need? Seriously, I mean think about it, just kill the damn things. It's not like anyone is going to miss them.”

Greg thought about this and he couldn't agree more. No one that was worth anything would miss these things. Greg said, “So, you just think that it's going to be that easy?”

“Of course, it isn't going to be easy, is anything we ever do easy? It's going to be a huge pain in the ass. God knows what's going to happen; there's a million things I haven't thought of that can probably go wrong. But if we can take the state back and start working our way out can you effing imagine what that would mean. I mean what if we had an endless supply of that zombie powder and we could just fly across America painting it with powder.”

Clary had walked over, seeing the two talking and looking pretty serious about whatever they had found in the corner. Clary asked, “You didn't learn how to fly, right, Shaun?”

Shaun didn't want to say the same thing over again but he did reiterate pointing and explaining, “For God's sakes guys, get your heads out of your asses. There's hope here that we can retaliate. We can go back against those things. We can do something smarter than sticking a damn bag of blood up and then picking them off like fish in a barrel one at a time, it's too little thinking at that pace it’d take us a lifetime of doing it to get us anywhere. I'm well aware I came up with the idea but now I came up with this idea and it's going to be awesome. It's going to be great but we just need to take this with us.”

It did not take a genius to see how Clary felt about Shaun's idea. Clary replied, “What in the hell are we standing around here for? We need to find a trailer.”

Earl said, “If Bob don't know how to work on those, if y'all still got the internet I bet you I can find some schematics on how that thing works and with hopefully just a little bit of tinkering I can get it running like a boss.”

“Earl, you work on guns and cars. I feel like you might be a lot handier than your presentation to people might suggest. You might think about cleaning that up.”

“Oh shoot, just cuz you're the smartest guy in the room don't mean you need to dress like it. I don't know if I'll ever get rid of this party in the back business in the front, I got my shit down, brother. Besides this is the only thing I got that helps keep all them ladies from trying to get with me if you know what I mean.”

Clary knew that Earl probably didn't have too many issues in that department, regardless of his know-how was probably still never the smartest guy in the room. But as of right now, Clary didn't have any interest in putting a hole in Earl's balloon. Clary said, “That sounds like you've got life figured out, Earl. You just keep on improving shit and we might be able to give those things a run for their money.”

“Damn straight, I'm in it to win it. I got things to do and people to see. I just need to figure out if my pals in Canada are still alive. But I think I got time to help you guys get rid of all these zombie things running around causin’ Hell for everyone else.”

Chapter 15

No one asked anything. They knew that more than likely if a nerdy kid such as Pete was screaming at the top of his lungs that they needed to be attentive and listen. When Ellie heard everything and connected that with the words, you’re gonna die, she took off in a dead sprint. Ellie pulled Joey to get running and they sprinted like a bat out of Hell to get out of the blast range. Ellie could only assume the seriousness of what was going on with the speed that Pete was moving. A million thoughts were racing through her head at the moment and the thought that maybe that one tank was connected to other tanks, or that once one domino fell there was going to be a helluva lot of things happening all at once.

Ellie looked over her shoulder to see that the dead were beginning to come out of the windows. A fireball erupted, one that immediately reminded her of day two of this. Shaun had thought that when they had their shitty old van, they were driving around to get Patrick insulin from his house that he was making a good choice. Shaun learned a valuable lesson about the Turned on that day. That it was a very important thing to not be loud, loud meant dinner bell, that the dead would race towards you
