another barrier had disappeared between them. With the thought of saying goodbye pushed firmly behind her, at least for another few days, she relaxed against his hard body. If Blake didn't make the move shortly, she would be knocking on his door. It had been too long and her body was desperate to discover what he had to offer.

“Um…lunch.” She lifted her gaze to his and saw him swallow, his throat working with the action. Leaning back, she coughed, glancing around to see if anyone was watching them. “We'd better get something to eat.”

He raised an eyebrow and groaned softly. “Please tell me you are on the list.”

Heat raced up her cheeks as footsteps sounded behind them.

“I'm starving.” Bluey slapped him on the shoulder and headed to the house with the children right behind him.

“Tonight, Delilah. You and me, okay?” His eyes smoldered as he glanced up and down her body, sending tingles to her already awakened sensitive points.

“Yes. Please, oh yes.” She raised her hand to stop the sob rising in her throat.

“What? Did I say something wrong?” He grasped her hand, worry now on his face.

“No, no. It's just…it's just been so long and I didn't want to throw myself at you, but I was gearing up for it. Seriously, that’s so not my normal behavior. I'm usually more circumspect with my love life.” Del refused to be ashamed of her needs now they were in a better place. She needed sex after watching him for so long and dreaming of it.

“Hmm, looks like we bring out the best in each other then, because if you’d said no, I don't know what I would have done.” He laughed, throwing his head back and she wanted to reach up and run her tongue up his throat and nibble at the chiseled chin. “I haven't been with anyone since my wife died, so don't hold it against me if I don't take my time. At least not the first time.”

“Um…we had better go and have lunch.” Delilah clasped her thighs together to still the heat racing through her body and looked at the ground before taking a deep breath. Tempting though it was, she doubted they would get away with ravaging each other out in the sheep yards. Composed again, she started toward the house with Blake keeping her company step for step, his hand grazing her shoulders.

Sitting across the table from him was a strain with the promise of a lustful encounter once the children were in bed. Del looked everywhere but in his eyes, worried she would give herself away with Bluey at the table. The less that man knew the better. His all-seeing eyes and sparkling wit would be the end of her, especially if he cottoned on to what she was thinking.

After lunch, they left her with her computer and the sudden desperate need to get back into her writing. Being away from the studio was bad enough, but at least she could attempt some sort of outline for the next season if she could kick her brain into gear. It would also give her a chance to think over what Sue had said and her reaction to the conversation. Keeping secrets was not how she had planned to go into a serious relationship and it chewed at her conscience.

Lilly followed her father back down to the sheds and Delilah was alone. Powering up her laptop, she glanced at the notes she had written on the last episode and frowned. There was something no longer gelling with her and the characters. The need to do something vile to her hero niggled at her. Kim wouldn’t be happy, that much was a given. He was one of her clients too, and she had made it known more than once that they should be nice to one another as it was beneficial to everyone in the long run.

The false and shallow world they lived in jarred. Delilah decided to play around with another idea that rumbled around in her mind, and her fingers flew over the keys. When the sound of footsteps on the back stairs sounded, she looked up. The light had changed, time had flown. Delilah saved her work and shut it down before putting the computer to one side. She stretched as Blake walked into the lounge room.

“How did it go? Given that pretty boy anything resembling what happens in the real world?” He winked at her to soften the words, but he had a point and she knew why it was annoying her writing the next season.

“Actually no, I couldn't bring myself to do anything on that. He can just wait and see if I want to do more for him. I've been working on something entirely different and its flowing well.” Del got to her feet and smiled up at him.

“Another show?” Blake watched her and she wondered where this was going. He didn't look particularly happy.

“No. A novel, family saga actually. It's been rolling around in my mind for some time but my manager was more interested in me doing the series. I don't know how well this will be received or even if it will ever get published but, hey, if you don't try you will never know.”

A small lick of hope begin to fire in his chest. “So does that mean you won't be doing another season of Bondi Beauties then?”

She gazed at him and he knew the minute she clicked and was on the same wave-length as him. Her gaze wavered and she looked down at the floor. “I have commitments I have to see through. Even if I wanted to give the show away, I'm not sure I can, at least not without a season’s notice. Let’s wait and see what John comes up with.” Delilah walked over to the window and spoke with her back to him. “Let's not rush this, okay? I have so much to think about; my career and where
