so warm and I nodded towards him.

“Thank you, I’ll go and call her.” I picked up my phone and walked out of the room before I dialed my mum's number. It rang and rang and rang. Her voicemail activated and I began to speak. “Hey mum… I’m safe. I’m just staying over at a friend's house. I’ll be back in the morning I promise. Love you, bye.” I placed the phone down and rested my head against the door I was leaning against.

“You look tired?” The low voice I had grown to know was close to me and I opened my eyes to spot him stood leant against the stairwell.

“Hm, you could say that.” I smiled softly at him and watched as he took my hand in his.

“I’ll show you to a spare room,” I placed my hand in his and followed him up the wide stairwell to the second floor. The banister was glass. There were two sides; he took me towards the right and down a hallway before he leant to unlock the door. “There’s a main bathroom down there,” he pointed down the corridor before he opened up the spare room door. I gasped. Holy fuck! I entered the room and glanced around barely listening to him talking. “There’s an ensuite through there, the remote for the tele is on the side table…” I took in the surroundings and held my breath. The large king sized bed took pride of place in the center of the room, I ran my fingers against the white sheets. There was a large floor to ceiling length window across the back wall and I frowned. There was no sea view but fields. As far as my eyes could see.

“Who’s house is this?” I asked politely.

“It’s Alfie’s.” He smiled towards me and I nodded. Alfie? What does he do? I thought he worked behind the bar!? My question list seemed to be getting longer. “You alright now?” His eyebrows raised and I smiled softly.

“I was hoping I could ask you some questions?” I watched as his demeanor changed. He hardened as he nodded.

“Fire away.” His smile didn’t reach his eyes and I placed myself on one of the white armchairs that overlooked the back of the house.

“Why didn’t you tell them you’d already met me before that night at the bar?” I swallowed my nerves and watched as he made his way behind me. I glanced up towards him.

“It’s complicated.” I felt his fingers trace my shoulders and bit down on my lip. His touch was like fire.

“That wasn’t the answer I was hoping for.” My words came out as a whisper and I knew he was smiling. “Okay so why are you here now?” My eyes darted open as I felt his fingers leave my shoulders and rest either side of the chair that I was sat on. His gaze was intense. I watched as he swallowed, his Adam’s apple rose and fell.

“I can’t seem to stay away.” He whispered against my lips. My body’s reaction to him shocked me, my nipples tingled and my heart pounded. He leant further down towards me, running his nose over mine, I ran my hand up to his neck and held him there. I didn’t ever want him to move. His expression looked pained. I ran my thumb against the rough stubble on his cheek. “What do you want, Avaya?” I searched for a giveaway in the way he was looking at me but his eyes seemed darker than they ever had before, I wasn’t sure whether he was pissed off or something else but my voice didn’t seem to want to escape my lips. “What do you want?” His voice was gruff, almost carnivorous. I could feel a pool of warm between my legs and felt his lips brush against the corners of my mouth. “I won’t lay another finger on you unless you tell me what you want.” My breathing was irregular now.

“You,” I felt him smile against my cheek and I knelt up on the tiny arm chair so that I was facing him. I examined his face. He was intoxicating. I cleared my throat and stopped looking for a give away in his eyes. There was a static silence around us. You shouldn’t have moved. I squeezed my eyes together and cleared my throat before I tucked my hair behind my ear. I felt weightless, two hands wrapped themselves around me, I tucked my legs around his waist as he rested me against the cool window. He placed a kiss against my mouth. It wasn’t soft, it was full of need and I didn’t mind that. I pulled gently on his hair and heard a groan escape his mouth. Our kiss turned into a sloppy open mouthed kiss. He squeezed my thighs that he was holding and I arched my back slightly. He was strong, stronger than I’d given him credit for.

“This will happen once and once only.” His voice was a growl and I nodded frantically. I didn’t care if it was just once. I needed to feel what he was like. My eyes darted open as he pulled away from our kiss. “Once Holt.” I ran my nose against his again and placed a soft kiss against his lips. “Fuck” this wasn’t supposed to come out. He carried me from the window towards the bed. He placed me down softly and almost glared down at me. My dress straps were hanging off my shoulders and I knew my hair would be wild. I flushed red and watched as he dropped to his knees in front of where I was perched. I was supporting my weight with my arms but they didn’t feel strong enough, the warmth was escaping my body and I could feel it between my legs. I shook my head. His hands ran up the length of my thighs and I found myself throwing my head back to try and stop whatever sound was trying to
